“the word legacy is just a bit of a weird word. i don’t like it, but in a way, it’s just an ability for me to look at the younger generation, see myself as a kid, and go, ‘i have an ability and a chance to just help other people now and help get other drivers to formula one’”🥹🤍

Lando really had to overcome a gap in points that only two all-timers had ever been able to (on his teammate too, meaning no car advantage was coming to save him.)
He not only did it, he did it in double time, and would sealed the deal a week early if not for a DSQ. My fkn GOAT.

So where were Norris actually quicker then Piastri in the race?
Everywhere.
Anyone know if Piastri had actual car dmg/issues with brakes, steering wheel or anything?

"lando asked for the swap" no, in fact he didn't, not once.
these are their full radios until the moment it happened. andrea has now confirmed it was discussed pre race, so 'the other driver is on a different strategy' was very likely the cryptic code mclaren used for it and there was no real split strategy.
lando was asked about his pace, he answered, and mclaren made the call based on the data, with the final +20 second gap only reinforcing that he did in fact have the pace.
