The 2025 WSOP Dealer Daze is here. I plan to run daily updates like before and will pin this master thread. Favorite and follow as needed. Lots of changes this year, so we're just going to paddle in and ride the wave. I'm on the schedule starting Wednesday. Good luck everyone.

Great to see @toastcmu for a classic #backseattweets airport ride w/ cheese. I was telling Bill that I must really like him if I'm getting out of bed early to go pick him up. But I'd forgotten about our extra hour last night so maybe I don't like him as much as I thought? Thanks!

Just know LV that there are people who fully agree with you. If there were 2 words I could erase from the dictionary it the first would be “deserve” and the second would be “motivation.”

I’m a dual citizen in the US and an EU country. I’ve spent a lot of time living around EU & Middle East. There are so many things in the US that everyone takes for granted. If you have a full time job, healthcare isn’t an issue. With you on ed, but needs major restrictions.

"It’s a fact that neither party has made any substantial progress at solving the big problems that continue to plague the country. No country is perfect, but some are a lot better than others. " Agreed. That's why I don't wait around for the government to improve my life.

I tried to explain. Most Americans haven’t spent enough time out of the country to understand how other countries have solved many of the problems that still plague the US. I never advocated for people getting “free stuff” without working hard. But 40-50 hours/wk is enough. “Free stuff” is not free - it’s paid for primarily through either income or consumption taxes. It’s a choice - spend government revenues on the military killing machine and corporate tax cuts, or invest in your citizens. The government could make the choice today without any additional taxes from anyone. Just think, though … if Education and Health care were freely accessible to everyone, the US would have the healthiest and highest educated workforce on the planet. How good would that be for the economy? Instead we have millions who can’t read above the 6th grade level, and can’t afford their medicine. It’s a fact that neither party has made any substantial progress at solving (or even improving) the big problems that continue to plague the country. No country is perfect, but some are a lot better than others. I don’t hold out much hope. The US is done - rotting from the inside. Every great empire throughout human history has eventually fallen. The British Empire, Han Dynasty, Roman Empire, Third Reich - every single one without exception. If you think the US is gonna buck the trend, you’ve been brainwashed. I’d give you my thoughts on human evolution and a centralized World Government, but I fear your head would explode. 🤯

You say you're not advocating for free stuff but you are, literally in the next paragraph. Our problems with education have absolutely nothing to do with money and everything to do with culture. And the reason some struggle isn't because of military spending. That's a cope.

Appreciate the kind words. But I'm not sure I want to live in a world where hustling isn't a prerequisite for comfortable living. That people think they're entitled to free stuff ie. all things you mentioned, without hard work IS the problem in my view. You deserve what you earn.

OK. I will try to explain this to you. You’re a Real Estate agent - a good one, in my experience. Plus you drive rideshare, deal at WSOP, and maybe have other side gigs. You hustle, and I respect that. The point is you shouldn’t HAVE to. In America (the “richest country in the world” with the biggest economy on the planet) 40 hours a week should be enough to afford a decent lifestyle. But there are literally tens of thousands of people employed full-time LIVING IN THIR CAR. And tens of thousands more who are homeless wandering the streets of our major cities every day. And don’t get me started on all the gun violence, racial tensions and drug addiction. It’s a shit-hole country. This is the American Utopia you’re proud of? It’s a disgrace. The trend of private equity buying up American companies, then cutting quality, portion sizes, and reducing worker pay & benefits is a GOOD thing? You been to Chipotle lately? Panera Bread? They used to be good - now they’re shit. I could name dozens of other places that are now also expensive shit-holes, with workers making minimum wage. Why do you think everyone is literally begging for tips these days? People will work for peanuts when everyone is paying peanuts because they have families to feed. Wealth continues to concentrate in the top 5%, while the rest of the people can’t afford medicine or groceries. Average gas prices have increased 47% in Las Vegas since Trump started a war with Iran. A war he can’t win, or even end with diplomacy. How’s that impacting your rideshare earnings? Maybe we have different views on what constitutes a civilized society. In my view, a civilized society is where Health Care and Education are human rights. Not something reserved for rich people, or people sucked into predatory student loan debt. And where working 40 hours a week pays a living wage, so people have leisure and family time. If everything is so rosy, where’s your $5k DOGE dividend check? Where’s your $2k Tariff dividend check? You really think you’ll get your $5k Trump dividend if the GOP retains both houses of Congress? Good luck with that. Oh, and the Russia/Ukraine war was going to end 48 hours after Trump took office. How’s that going? Look, I digress a little bit but do you really want to live in a world controlled by corporations, who make Billions in profits while continuously driving down wages and driving up prices, while producing cheap crap for high prices? Why do you think American food is so unhealthy? It’s shit. Ultra-processed and full of sugar & chemicals that’s cheap to produce (more corporate profits!) Plus, these corporations don’t ever pay reasonable amounts of taxes on their Billions in profits. One last point: I noticed you used the word “entitled”. Do you really believe it’s “entitled” to expect a living wage for working 40 hours/wk? The Red Barron worker didn’t appear very entitled to me. These companies can even fire you at will, ANY time for ANY reason, and as a bonus fuck up your health insurance because it’s tied to your job. Unbridled capitalism is just SO awesome. I hope that’s a sufficient explanation. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

.In my view, most of what ails the common man is bad government policy. Fiscal, societal and regulatory. I don't understand how so many people can want open borders and flood the country with unskilled labor then turn around and complain about high cost of housing and low wages.

.Labor is a commodity like any other and in sectors not inundated with labor force their wages are going up all on their own. No government meddling or corporate philanthropy required.

Explain to me how it's greed to (only) pay you what you're willing to accept but not greedy for you to believe you're entitled to *more* than you're willing to accept.
Replying to @LVCabChronicles
“It isn’t greedy to pay someone what they’ve willing to work for”. Holy fucking shit. Are you serious? You are so tone deaf on this issue, it’s incredible.

In Real Estate Law CE class today the instructor made a Jeopardy Game where we had to chime in to answer questions. I was told these things were to remain professional so it took every ounce of my energy to not change my screen name to Turd Ferguson.

Welcome Home Terrarium.
Picked up 2 couples last night. The girls went to Tim McGraw and the guys went to Metallica. I thought it'd be interested if those artists did a collaboration so we started thinking of song titles... - Pasture of Puppets - Enter Landman - And Justice For Y'all - Sad But Tooth.
