Our latest research is now on bioRxiv:
Inhibition of autophagy as a novel therapy for the treatment of neurofibromatosis type 1 tumors biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
@LSI_Exeter @UniofExeter
We generated a Drosophila cell model of Neurofibromatosis type 1 and used this to search for potential drugs to treat tumors. We show that chloroquine treatment has a clear selective effect on tumor cells across multiple cell culture and in vivo model systems.
A big thank you to the Medical Research Council for funding and to Nerve Tumours UK for collaborating with us on this project. @The_MRC @NervetumoursUK
