I’ll fight to make sure everyone shares in the success Greater Manchester is building - making sure there’s more money in people's pockets, pride in every town centre with a New High Streets Fund, a new generation of council and affordable homes and an expanded Bee Network that freezes fares and that works for all of us. 🐝 🌹

Thanks to @EcclesMosque for inviting me to speak to their community during yesterdays prayers.
Salford has a long-standing Muslim community, going back decades, and they are a vital part of our city's vibrant, diverse tapestry.
Today we remember Alan Henning, our heroic Eccles aid worker, taken by ISIS on this day in 2014. Alan went to Syria not for glory, but for humanity. Terror will never win.
We honoured him with the Freedom of the City; his legacy lives on in our hearts.
Rest in power, Alan ❤️

Great to be out with Councillor Mike McCusker talking with residents in Eccles and Patricroft yesterday. Plenty of good conversations and both Mike and myself have got issues to take away.

Interesting infographic from @equalitytrust on land ownership in the UK👇🏻
Often development focuses on how public sector land can be utilised to tackle the housing & homelessness crisis but as it only accounted for 8.5% in 2018 (likely less now!), we probably need to re-focus?🤔
The UK's land is owned by a tiny number of people – just 1% of the population own 70% of land. Huge amounts of public land have been sold off since the 70s and the price of land has skyrocketed, encouraging the housing and climate crises and hurting our entire society.
ALT Infographic showing land ownership in England and Wales in 2018: Aristocracy 30%, Corporations 18%, Oligarchs & Bankers 18%, Unregistered 17%, Public Sector 8.5%, Homeowners 5%, Crown Estate & Royals 1.4%, Church of England 0.5%.
We had a fantastic time at the Monton Sports Club PCA Event & Open Day! Great vibes, kids' inflatables, local stalls, dance performances, a classy lunch & cricket with England legends 🏏 top-tier!
This an amazing community hub, thanks to all involved!

🚛 Tackling fly-tipping in #WorsleyAndEccles!
New powers mean councils can now seize & crush vehicles used for dumping waste illegally - Stronger action to keep our streets cleaner, safer, and greener.
Fly-tipping harms our community & it won’t be tolerated under @UKLabour.
