Very much wishing that 2024 brings ceasefires and peace around the world, and that innocent children caught in these dreadful conflicts have some kind of hope.

I have sponsored this Amendment to the King's Speech calling for a ceasefire.
A ceasefire is the only way to stop the killing. Saving innocent civilian lives must be the priority.
Tonight in Parliament, I'll be voting for a ceasefire.

BREAKING: STATEMENT FROM DIRECTOR GENEAL OF HOSPITALS ON GAZA STRIP
Muhammad Zaqout:
“The Israeli occupation army stormed Al-Shifa Hospital and entered the “basement” of the hospital and did not find anything.
He is now going up to all the floors, confirming that the hospital is civilian, and he will not be surprised if the Israeli occupation makes a new false film, as it did in Al-Rantisi and Hamad, and brings up “baby feeding” and says that the hospital is being used for military matters.
Pointing out that the occupation fired heavy bullets inside the hospital without any clashes, which caused a state of panic and fear among the patients, he pointed out that the doctors are steadfast and fulfilling their humanitarian duty.”

There must be a ceasefire and negotiations towards a free Palestine.

6th richest economy in the world.
Child poverty is expected to rise because of political choices.
The relative child poverty measure is important because it captures how children and families are faring now.
On this measure, 4.2 million children are in poverty. This is expected to rise.
Absolute child poverty is also expected to rise.

Today, Patrice Lumumba was born. The man who led Congo to independence. Because he wanted his country free from Belgium and western allies, he was attacked and killed in a firing squad, hacked into pieces and dissolved into acid. He died fighting.

Remember how the Govt told us Review Bodies were “independent” and they accepted their recommendations in full?
Here you can see Sunak, Barclay & Shapps saying so & Gillian Keegan nodding on the front bench.
Now they plan to ignore 6.5%
Not on!

Wow! 40,000 teacher left teaching last year! That’s a huge 9% of all teachers. And 90% of those were pre-retirement. This is astonishing, a crisis.
What is Gillian Keegan doing about it?

Brilliant speech by Jeremy Corbyn at the a Council of Europe today after far-right inspired hate-speech by a Hungarian delegate. Challenging those filled with hate to visit the multicultural constituency which he is so proud to represent, and listen to the refugees.

Teachers really don’t want to have to strike in July, but this timeline shows that they have been given no choice. @GillianKeegan needs to do her job and negotiate so that we can save the education system in this country.
