Spot on post. No, zero HS athletes “need” this. But Derrick’s point about nuance is something so many miss. Never forget you’re working with HS KIDS. Not necessarily tsunami bars, but something simple like super setting squats with band-assisted pogos lets kids think they’re doing the fancy stuff and keeps them engaged. If it’s safe and doesn’t get in the way, do the “fancy” stuff. It can be boring and it’ll still work, but having a little fun keeps them coming back. They’re still kids.
Beneficial for power development in the top 0.001% of athletic population. 5 year NBA/NFL vets, multi year Olympians. Everyone else not so much. Nuance: Can trick a kid who isn’t big into the weight room into getting into the weight room and that’s good

Specialty bars should be extremely low on the priority list for high school athletes, if they make the list at all. Things like tsunami bars aren’t moving the needle for the vast majority of 14–18 year-olds.

Thursday night football reporter to Parker Washington “Catching the ball with your eyes! Where’d you learn to do that?” . Clueless…. Probably his first year of Pop Warner maybe?

I see a lot of tears about 10-0 League Champs having to go on the road in the 1st round of CIF Playoffs. Here's the reality: The Ratings Playoff System has been in place for 4 years & its pretty consistent. Why not play a tough non league schedule- They system rewards a Hi S.O.S

It also wont dock you for losing to good teams either. Pretty Easy IMO Weak League? Play a challenging non league schedule! Cupcakes don't get rewarded.

Jeff Teague says the workouts got easier in the NBA and he actually got hurt more than he did in college “No, they care. It’s just the way you train. Like Gil said it. I remember I got hurt because the way I started training when I got to the NBA, it was different than when I trained when I was in college. Like, I was a machine in college.” “When I worked out with them football dudes, I was a machine. As soon as I got to the league and the workouts went to more easier things, like, ‘All right, just three sets of this, get a little core’, all of a sudden I start having knee pains. All of a sudden I start having all these other things.” “Then at the end of my career, I started lifting like I did in high school and college and stuff, and I’m like, ‘Oh, I feel good.’ But my body done already had that wear and tear. It was over with.” “And now I lift like we did when I was in college. Now my knees don’t hurt. Now I feel good. And I’m like, ‘I’m 40.’ It ain’t pointless because you’re trying to be healthy forever. But while you’re in the league, that stuff do matter. I should have been lifting like I was in college.”
