Finally made it to Beamish - and gosh, I love this utterly confected landscape just as much as I expected.

Great to see copies of @LambLex’s 1988 Glasgow Garden Festival book out in the wild aka the Kelvingrove Museum shop. Also some GGF artefacts on display in the Glasgow gallery. @AtGF1988

One for all those who thought Charles only did the concrete stuff.

Got tickets for Blue Oyster Cult at the Concert Hall. (Last time I saw them was at the Renfrew Ferry, which seemed a really odd venue for a stereotypically 70s stadium American rock behemoth.)

I see that's the big application in for Plot 2 at Yorkhill Quay now. 26/01790/MSC if you're interested.

The story of Edward Hornel and the old bloke's cup and ring mark/rock art hallucinations is new to me. There's a few possible sites near the Kirkcudbrightshire hamlet in question on rockart.scot, too. From Hartrick's 'A Painter's Pilgrimage Through Fifty Years'...

Welll, this was a film that really turned out to be radically different from what one would expect. Really very odd, and I rather liked it. Not many laughs, but. youtube.com/watch?v=4uZWlKGR…

Was once in a pet shop in Whiteinch. Asked what those small creatures in the vivarium were and was told ‘they’re jist wee Anoles’. Of course, I kept asking ‘yes, but what kind of animals?’ and it all became very frustrating for both parties (not the Anoles, who were fine).

Seen them three times. I wish I’d seen them then, though age has mellowed their approach beautifully.

Dear Glasgow gardening/building preservation Twitter: Wall Lettuce (Mycelis muralis) - I'm finding it everywhere these days, growing out of walls etc., yet I cannot remember it being a thing here until a few years ago. Is it new to us? It's a right pest.

Just under 12 years ago, a lovely gentleman called David asked me if I would be interested in building a 1:76 scale model of Dover Priory signal box exactly as it was in present day - warts and all (well, mesh panels cobvering windows and razor wire fencing)...

Went to have a look at how the Uni’s new St Mungo Square is getting on, now that the east side is properly coming together. This thing (pictured) is going to be massive!

Really enjoyed my ‘in conversation’ for @byresrdbookfest this afternoon. Sold out, and a lovely crowd they were too. Thanks very much to all involved, and for asking me to participate - and Hillhead Library, of course, is a really special venue. gardenfestivalbook.com

Terrific poster, undoubtedly, but it does leave me wondering what is happening at half past ten.
