We are Europe.
From European fields to British tables, and from British farms to markets across the EU, food brings us together.ย
We share traditions, flavours and a strong trading relationship across borders.

Thatโs
65% Join the European Union
35% Stay out
When you remove donโt know, wouldnโt vote etc.
Commentators of course will charge (and fairly) that this may change a lot depending on clarifications and conditions of joiningโฆ
However, thereโs no doubting that the country is shifting hugely in mood around our relationship with our European family- and thereโs a large majority which doesnโt like the Brexit box that we are in.
New from @Ipsos_in_the_UK
How would you vote if there was a referendum on the UK applying to join the EU?
Should apply to join 56%
Should stay out 30%

European Movement UK is saddened by the passing of Patrick Stewart, a legendary actor and European advocate. Hereโs a brilliant sketch he starred in from 2016 defending the European Convention on Human Rights.

1% growth outside the EU.
2% growth inside the EU.
That is 1% growth over a whole decade since the referendum.
Whereas within the EU, the UK grew at 2% per year.
#Brexit left the UK economy with a flatlining absence of GDP growth. @BenChu_ @vicderbyshire @BBCNewsnight
Victoria Derbyshire, "What did we learn about our living standards?"
Ben Chu, "1% growth over 10 years"
"We used to grow 2% every year"
That's one way of illustrating the enormous economic price Britain has paid for Brexit #RejoinEU
The OBR estimates that Brexit will leave the UK economy around 4% smaller in the long run than it would otherwise have been, with both imports and exports taking a substantial hit.
We were promised greater prosperity, more opportunities and a stronger economy outside the EU. Instead, we've added significant trade barriers with our largest trading partner during a period of extraordinary economic stagnation.
Brexit isn't responsible for every economic problem Britain faces, but it has made the challenge of improving living standards considerably harder.
And ordinary households are living with the consequences of that decision.

Labour MP Helena Dollimore highlights the real-world consequences of Britain's departure from the EU: small businesses struggling to export, musicians facing barriers to touring Europe, and international trains no longer stopping at Ashford.

Any fool country can unilaterally drop its pants to more imports (the other's exports)..
Cutting (low EU level) tariffs (import standards & especially border controls) is only necessary because the UK has to now import across the much more costly regulatory (SPS) & customs borders it has against the whole world (it added 31 of the former & 28 of the latter by leaving the EU)..

Pathetic. The debate on UK-EU ties is never going away and burying your head in the sand is daily uncertainty. As I heard from multiple businesses yesterday. There is no stable baseline. And won't be. We better get used to that and stop pretending it away.
โ ๏ธ80% of Reform's donations are from overseas sources.
But of course only a cynic would suggest those high-minded philanthropists might not be primarily concerned with what's best for Britain...

Here we go with the "they're all coming here" floodgates thing ๐
1 Poland today has a 3.5% growth rate, so not likely they'll "all be coming here" again. In fact maybe quite a few British people might want to "go there" to a booming economy like Brits did to Germany in the 80s
2 A lot of Poles "all came here" in 2005 because the UK and ๐ฎ๐ช were the only countries which decided ๐ง๐จ๐ญ to apply a 7yr brake on FoM (negotiated by the EU) because Blair wanted cheap labour. It could have, but didn't
3 A whole lot more people "came here" after Reform's beloved Brexit, which quadrupled immigration
4 Over the years millions of us have, also "gone there" - free movement works both ways. How many Spaniards and French people have retired in sunny Clacton compared to the millions of UK pensioners who over decades have done so in the EU, incidentally clogging up their health services and hospitals and not the NHS ?

The 2016 vote was respected.
We left EU in Jan 2020, transition ended in Dec, new trade relationship in 2021 -and Parliament legislated every step.
Mandate delivered. Case closed.
Weโve moved on - and no vote binds/silences future electoratesโ voices. 1975 didn't bind 2016.

450 million currently have the right to settle in Amsterdam.
But donโt.
The full 69.5 million population of the UK plus the full 5.5 million population of Ireland currently have the right to work and settle in Brighton.
But donโt.
Reform are being very silly, again.

๐จ NEW: Andy Burnham says an "honest discussion" is needed on Britain readopting EU free movement
"Freedom of movement had very significant challenges associated with it... but it was a type of immigration that perhaps wasnโt as difficult [as now]"

UK offering Freedom of Movement would be the game changer for conversations with the EU, one of the trio of people, pounds and positivity I identified earlier this year as crucial to any significant move to removing barriers.

And with the next UK-EU Summit coming up on 20 November, plenty of important work ahead.
