.@dr_demetre, the Dir. of the Nat’l Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the CDC, just posted this on instagram.
Yes it’s that bad.
We are in uncharted territory.
To those who work with primary monocytes or PBMCs, do you have any idea what these coin-shaped features might be that are scattered amongst the immune cells? Are they platelets? They are calcein AM positive (viable) and are present at seeding time. #PBMC #Macrophage #immunecells
Wrapped up #AASOG2024. It was a fantastic meeting with lively discussions with folks from all over the world on solving the enigma that is sarcoidosis. The community is fantastic and welcoming and feels poised to make a difference in this disease. Thanks to all the organizers!
Excited to announce my first paper as senior author from the Locke Lab: 'Investigating Cryopreserved PBMC Functionality in an Antigen-Induced Model of Sarcoidosis Granuloma Formation.' Proud of the team's hard work! #Granuloma #Sarcoidosis #Immunology @BBRCME
Paul we will all miss you so much. Stoodley roughly translates to “studly horses in a woodlands field”. A perfect description of your many talents. But your smile always cut through all of it to mean the most. We will all carry your spirit on forever.
Spotted Charlottesville news car in the middle of Ohio. Go Hoos in Dayton on Thursday! @CBS19News #wahoowa @LockeOSULab
These little cell pellets represent so much work and promise for my first experience with single cell gene expression data! Hoping to gain insight into bacterial triggered immune cell function in #sarcoidosis #10x
Congratulations to Dr. Wozniak, my Postdoc mentor and all around excellent scientist/person.
The Locke Lab has a nice feature story! Check out who we are and our mission to better understand sarcoidosis granulomas. @OSUengineering #sarcoidosis
We connected with OSU BME Assistant Professor @LandonLocke, PhD to learn more about the research coming out of his lab. Read our newest "Lab Spotlight Story" to learn about Landon Locke, and the Locke Immunopathology and Granuloma Modeling Lab go.osu.edu/CgwR

Nice story on our lab and our new grant award to further our work in the human granuloma model!
With a grant from The Ann Theodore Foundation Breakthrough Sarcoidosis Initiative, Locke and his team aim to identify crucial insights that can pave the way for much-needed targeted therapies to interrupt and alleviate the disease process from sarcoidosis go.osu.edu/CeYY

Any folks out there using an old fashioned Petroff hauser chamber to count mycobacteria for cell infections? @Mattila_TB_Lab I figure you guys do. What is the best microscope to pair with this application and what is the ideal objective? 40x? Phase contrast important?
