Still looks like side effects are pretty toxic?
What happens when osimertinib stops working? A major concern for our EGFR+ #lungcancer community.
SAFFRON Phase III: 17.8 vs 12.9 months median survival with osimertinib + savolitinib vs chemotherapy in MET-altered disease.
Promising results #ESMO2026. Now, what about UK access?

The stock fell because the results didn't beat Wall Street's hopes. From the patient side it looks different. A vaccine built from your own tumor showing a real signal in Phase 3 is good news for people like me. I'm not waiting for it, though. I'm designing my own, with targets picked from my tumor's DNA.

On behalf of all lung cancer pts, thank you, @maxdoppelt . You are amazing!!!!!

Update: AstraZeneca announced this morning that sunvozertinib is now available in the United States. A major win for the lung cancer community, especially patients with EGFR exon 20 insertion lung cancer who have been waiting for this option.
China approved it in August 2023. The FDA approved it in July 2025. It became commercially available here today. More than three years from its first approval to US availability.
I did not expect this many people to read about my mom. Thank you. If you or someone you love is going through this and doesn’t know where to turn, my messages are open.

Love you, Max! Thanks for telling your story. Damn FDA!!!
In January 2025 my mom’s lung cancer spread to her brain. The drug with the best chance of helping her was approved in China but not here.
A doctor told me, almost as an aside, that if she were Chinese she could buy it at a pharmacy.
So I flew to Shanghai and came home with 26 boxes in my luggage. That was 19 months ago. My mom is still here, still working, and in her words has had an amazing three years.
The drug was approved in China in 2023. The FDA approved it in July 2025. It still is not for sale here. I know of at least 30 Americans who have made the same trip.
I have been scared to tell this story because I worried it could cost my mom access to the medicine keeping her alive. But the problem matters more than my silence. These drugs need to be developed and available here, and that means FDA reform.
Art Allen at KFF Health News told our story this week. It also ran in The Washington Post.

About time!!!
#Sunvozertinib is now available! Thank you, @AstraZeneca and @AstraZenecaUS —-For those #EGFR exon 20 insertion patients who have just progressed on ami plus chemo, please talk to your medical oncologist about sunvozertinib and double check with your medical center’s pharmacy services department in case of a delay in ordering or receiving #sunvo. Hooray—many thanks from @Exon20Group ! #LCSM
I’m gutted by this. Such a lovely young woman who married, adopted her husband’s kids and whose lung cancer advocacy was compelling💔💔
Today we lost Kelsey..a beautiful soul & beloved member of our lung cancer community.
She leaves behind her husband and four boys. This disease continues to shatter families & break our hearts every day.
Please take a moment to read her story: gofundme.com/f/support-kelse…
Ouch that’s some AEs if you’re a patient!
Phase II ETOP 18-21 AMAZE-lung trial of 2L amivantamab + lazertinib + bevacizumab after 3G TKI in EGFR NSCLC @LancetRespirMed. RR 39%. TRAEs included infusion reaction 58%, rash 50%, VTE 17% which would likely be mitigated with SQ and modern support.

🤍 @Pontifex, we hope you make a speedy recovery & are happy that it's been caught early when it's curable.

Mental health is as important to cancer pts as physical treatments. Scans & progression cause mental anguish. Mental health support should be incorporated into treatment plans. medpagetoday.com/reading-roo…

Isn’t it time to stop stigmatizing lung cancer research funding? It kills more people than other cancers yet gets least funding!!!
Pope Leo XIV @ Pontifex being diagnosed with lung cancer as a never smoker is not as rare as you may think. The CDC estimates that 10–20% of lung cancers in the U.S. occur in never-smokers.
We have been talking about this trend for a while. Read more here 👇

Great point by . @CharuAggarwalMD ! 👏
Not all comprehensive genomic tests are created equal. Different assays, different coverage, different results, with real implications for biomarker detection, patient selection and ultimately treatment decisions.
The test you choose matters! @StephenVLiu @Joshua_Reuss #DCLungCancer2026

A setback for firmonertinib, but a bigger question for EGFR exon 20 #LungCancer treatment.
FURVENT missed its PFS endpoint. Other recent trials have shown stronger PFS results, including with TKI + chemotherapy.
Key question now is what mature survival, side-effect and QoL data show.

The US FDA has withdrawn approval of lurbinectedin for previously treated small cell #lungcancer after the Phase 3 LAGOON trial failed to show longer survival.
Early promising results don’t always translate into people living longer. That’s why larger trials are so important.
Its separate approval with atezolizumab as maintenance treatment is unaffected.

Disappointing news from ArriVent about its Phase 3 firmonertinib study in EGFR exon 20 insertion-mutated NSCLC! Firmonertinib is approved in China for the EGFR classicals and for EGFR exon 20. ir.arrivent.com/news-release…
"If we believe patient involvement strengthens research, then engagement can't be an afterthought. It needs to be built in from the beginning, with clear roles, appropriate compensation & better ways to connect researchers with advocates." #wclc2026
How about the rest of us never smokers who got lung cancer? Our families need to have early screening too!
BIG NEWS FOR LUNG CANCER SCREENING: Governor Gavin Newsom has officially signed California SB 1124 into law! 🫁🎉
What began as a bill written by our incredible team on a word document is now California law!!!!!
SB 1124 will require tobacco retailers across California to display signage about #lungcancerscreening, bringing information about lifesaving #earlydetection directly to individuals who are most likely to benefit.
This milestone would not have been possible without the extraordinary team behind this effort. HUGE congratulations to @ucla_alcsi students Miah Chao, Elaine Dong, Ethan Chen whose tenacious advocacy, leadership, and coalition-building over the past 2 years are the reason this bill passed today. Congratulations as well to Deepti Srinivasan (@deeptisrini), Alex Potter (@alexandra_p_24), Phoebe Lee, and Dr. Chi-Fu Jeffrey Yang (@ChiFuJeffYang) for coming up with the vision to require signs about lung cancer screening wherever tobacco is sold and for drafting this innovative bill 3 years ago.
We are also deeply grateful to Senator Bob Archuleta for championing SB 1124, and to the lung cancer survivors, advocacy organizations, physicians, students, and community leaders who made this bill possible.
We are incredibly inspired by the momentum behind this legislation and the opportunity it creates to shine a light on lung cancer screening and early detection.
And we hope this is only the beginning! California has created a model that we hope to bring to states across the country, and we can’t wait to build on this progress! 🤍
