Some years ago, I read and adored #TheArtofFielding by Chad Harbach, and I’m so excited to return to his writing with #TheBrightness. Out in November.

Thrilled to have this early proof of #TenDays by @Katheri30814919, which looks like an excellent destination thriller. It’s out in April. Thank you, @BloomsburyRaven.

There’s so much to enjoy in #ItCouldBeWorse, in which @cfauthor puts her protagonist in a truly awful situation and then takes us on a great journey to redemption. It’s full of warmth and humour, relatable characters and interesting moral questions. @0neMoreChapter_

I’m late to the party with this one but I just spent a lovely few days (feeling like I was) in Italy with the gorgeous #TheCastleofStories by @MattCainWriter. It’s about a renovation project, and love, and step-parenting, and being true to yourself.

I loved the story of the protagonist’s uncle Wilf and his partner Arnaldo that runs through it, giving a bit of history to an otherwise contemporary novel. And most of all I loved Adam and Theo. Bravo, Matt Cain!

I loved Alison Irvine’s novel #CatStep a few years ago, and was delighted to receive a proof of her latest, #Daughterhood, which boasts the most beautiful cover.

Protagonist Nina is 46 (as am I) and is grappling with wayward parents, a complex relationship with her sister, being back in touch with the first man she loved, and the perimenopause. And honestly, it’s just brilliant.

Full of humour, beauty, and descriptions so vivid you feel like you’re there (hello, coil insertion scene), I enjoyed every moment I spent with Nina and her scattered family. @LuathPress

Christie Watson recently sent me a books and chocolate care package that included #QuiltonFire, a non-fiction book of hers, and I read it in hospital and found it was just what I needed.

It’s a gorgeous, intelligent look into the midlife experience, covering friendship, parenting, and relationships. The friendship aspect shone the most for me, but it was a total joy from start to finish. @vintagebooks

Football star Eric is found dead the morning after the reunion, and the group must revisit the events of their prom night to get to the bottom of things. I really enjoyed this twisty tale. @HarperNorthUK

#SoIMetthisGuy is a fun revenge story with a number of great European settings. Maggie has been scammed by a man who claimed to love her, and together with young journalist Flick, who’s desperate to write a breakout story, she sets out to track him down.

I really liked the intergenerational female friendship aspect, and there are a few well-hidden surprises along the way. @panmacmillan

I love that you always know you’re going to get something a bit different with a @SarahPinborough novel. #TheySayaGirlDiedHere has a small-town America setting, and young protagonist Anna is trying to work out whether the right man was blamed for the murders of two young women.

The second was killed three years after the first, and another three years have passed, which creates a great ticking-clock element. @orionbooks
