1/3 This week (a heterosexual) someone told me they get frustrated at the term #LGBTQ community because there isn't a straight one, and all it's doing is segregating the two. Also, this week, at work, an older male from an external agency told me at the end of a long t/c that he
2/3 thought my she/her pronouns in my email signature was unprofessional and not necessarily because he would have called me a 'girl' (GIRL!) anyway so why would I bother?
3/3 I explained that I'm showing allyship to colleagues. He abruptly told me "that's stupid, the whole thing is stupid".
This THIS IS WHY WE HAVE A COMMUNITY!

Absolutely! As part of a same sex couple, we're often asked who the birth/real mother is. We've also been told only the birth/real mother can sign to consent for (standard) baby vaccines. Total rubbish of course, so I asked the nurse to guess who that is....cue the backtracking!

Todays events as a #Wheelchair user..
The lady at the #covid vaccine centre brought over their transit wheelchair whilst I was getting mine out of the car. She insisted it would be quicker and easier & despite me telling her I would be using my own she was quite persistent. 1/4
Once inside, the staff were lovely, although navigating doors whilst people stand in them (holding them open) is always fun. 3/4
First time wearing the baby and I think she approves 🙃. Took a bit of getting used to the change in centre of gravity and had to adapt my pushing style slightly but it felt good! #Wheelchair #WheelchairUser #OccupationalTherapist #OccupationalTherapy
