Silence in a conversation may feel empty, but it's not! In fact, there's so much happening while you wait for your child to take a turn, and these silent pauses are important for supporting your child's communication.

Love this. Great example of attunement between baby and mum! I’ve always been puzzled by why you get ante natal classes to help you with the birth but reinforcing the importance of this type of interaction isn’t a prerequisite when you have a baby!! – at Milngavie, Scotland
I don’t know what they’re discussing, but I do know it’s serious.
I mean get a load of that little face!
Kidding aside, take a moment to admire mom’s expert mirroring of her newborn’s thoughtful tone and expression throughout this video - pausing only briefly to chuckle at those adorably expressive eyebrows.
This is the way.
Kudos to bebeginsayfasi on IG for this outstanding “serve and return” interaction.

3. This 2021 report showed that yng childrn's language develpmnt had been affected. I hear abt delayed language everywhere. Strugglng to express yrself results in frustration, which leads to behaviour that adults often punish & then relational conflict. bbc.co.uk/news/education-568…
