The worst outcome is rarely as bad as we imagine, and the recovery is usually easier than we think.
Most things we fear in business aren't life-or-death situations.
They're opportunities for growth and learning.

When we skip self-reflection, 75% of us fall into the "too busy" trap.
"No time to dwell. I'm maxed out. My best is good enough."
You're not just busy, you're busy missing out.
• On growth.
• On improvement.
• On becoming the badass version of yourself you know you can be.
So instead of brushing it off like yesterday's to-do list, integrate it into your life.
3 Steps to incorporate Self-Reflection into your life:
1. Daily: Your 5-minute power-up.
• What energized you today?
• What tripped you up?
• What's the golden nugget you're taking to bed?
2. Weekly: Sunday evening check-in.
• Your personal pit stop.
• Reflect, recharge, realign.
• What's the game plan for your upcoming week?
3. Monthly: Zoom out. Bird's eye view time.
• Where are you doing awesome?
• Where are you stuck?
• Time to pivot or double down?
Self-reflection is available 24/7, no subscription required.
Do you practice self-reflection?
John Brewer retweeted
You've heard these before, right?
• "Stick to the plan."
• "Stay disciplined."
• "Consistency is key."
Sounds like solid advice. But it's not the whole story.
Discipline matters. But rigidity can be your creativity's worst enemy.
And when life throws you a curveball? You're left deer-in-the-headlights frozen.
Picture this: It's Monday morning. Your calendar is a work of art, with every hour mapped out like a military operation. You're locked and loaded, ready to dominate the week.
Then life happens.
An unexpected call.
A creative roadblock.
Your kid's school is calling - they're sick.
Suddenly, your perfect plan's in shambles.
Your sense of control? Gone.
When you're too rigid, you're trying to stuff life into a box. But life is not a neat little package.
It's a wild, unpredictable, beautiful mess.
On the flip side, total flexibility isn't the answer either. Without any structure, you're just drifting. No direction. No progress.
So what's the solution?
Finding Your Balance
Think of yourself as a tree.
Your roots are your core values.
Your branches are your goals.
That's where you flex. Bending without getting uprooted.
Your Action Plan:
1. Nail your non-negotiables
What are your values and goals? These are your anchors.
2. Schedule spontaneity (yeah, it's a thing)
Block out time to wing it. Let your mind off the leash. You'll be amazed where it takes you.
3. Audit your routine
Regularly ask: What's working? What sucks? Be brutally honest.
4. Zoom out and reassess
Are you just spinning your wheels, or are you actually moving forward? Big difference.
- Rigidity brings structure, but it can lead to burnout.
- Flexibility offers freedom, but too much can leave you directionless.
The key? Finding your sweet spot.
It's not about being perfect. It's about being effective.
It's not about controlling every minute. It's about making every minute count.

Hustle culture: the relentless pursuit of success through non-stop work.
It's been overplayed by entrepreneurial circles for years.
But times are changing.
These slogans are no longer motivational, they are stupid:
• "Rise and grind!"
• "Sleep is for the weak!"
• "If you're not working 80 hours a week, you're not trying hard enough!"
Grinding yourself to dust isn't sustainable.
Who knew?
People are waking up to the fact that success without sanity is a hollow victory at best.
These once-motivational mantras now serve as red flags for toxic work environments.
The rejection of hustle culture has become the new marker of success and balance.
It's a perfect example of spotting trendy advice that won't stand the test of time.
When people start using something as a warning sign for burnout and misery, it's probably not sustainable.
When advice makes you feel like crap about yourself or your life choices, it's probably not wisdom.
It's just really well-marketed BS.
We've all felt that pressure. You scroll through social media, see everyone "crushing it" 24/7, and wonder if you're falling behind because you actually sleep and have hobbies.
It's not your fault. You've been sold a lie.
Those 'gurus' pushing 24/7 hustle? They're not selling success. They're selling insecurity wrapped in a shiny 'productivity hack' bow.
Next time you feel that FOMO creeping in, remember: You're not falling behind. You're just not falling for the hype.
They peddle "secrets" that all your competitors are supposedly using (except you!). They push new productivity apps that promise to 10x your output while you sleep (ironic, right?).
Their message is "The world is moving fast. Keep up! Do more, more, MORE!"
They make you question yourself.
• Am I lazy?
• Not cut out for success?
• Should I just quit everything and start that llama farm?
They chip away at your self-worth, work-life balance, and joy, leaving you feeling inadequate.
That's when they draw you in with quick-fix productivity hacks.
Here's a better mantra for your mirror:
"My worth isn't measured by how busy I am."
Because you're a human, not a productivity machine.
Focus on alignment, not quantity.
• What resonates with you?
• What's your desired outcome
• What needs to be done to achieve it?
The long game of intentional, aligned action will make you more effective and fulfilled than chasing "more" for the sake of more.
Success isn't about hustling 24/7.
It's about crafting a life so good, you don't need to escape from it.

Did you know we have about 60,000 thoughts a day?
Many are exciting ideas we'll never act on, but they can be significant distractions.
Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should.
Picture Chipotle.
What comes to mind?
- Mexican-inspired cuisine
- Burritos and bowls
- Paying extra for guac (worth it)
Now, imagine Chipotle thinking:
"We have a grill and meat. Why not add buns and make hamburgers?"
Sounds absurd, right?
That's not their focus or priority.
Who wants a Chipotle burger anyway?
This scenario plays out in our minds daily, just on a smaller scale.
An exciting idea pops up, completely shifting our focus.
Often at the expense of meaningful progress that actually matters.
Why is this important for you?
1. Not all ideas deserve action. Discernment is key.
2. Stay true to your priorities. Alignment is essential.
3. Distractions often disguise themselves as opportunities. Learn to spot the difference.
4. Your energy is finite. Invest it wisely in ideas aligned with your goals.
5. "Shiny object syndrome" can derail your progress. Be aware of it.
6. Saying no to good ideas makes room for great ones.
7. Regular reflection helps you stay on track. Schedule it.
Just because an idea excites you doesn't mean it serves your purpose.
Take a moment today. Ask yourself:
"Does this new idea align with my goals and values?"
If not, it might be a distraction in disguise.
Your success depends on your ability to focus. Don't let every passing thought derail you.

Burnout has a cure: clarity of purpose.
When we lose sight of our 'why,' exhaustion sets in.
If you are feeling this reconnect with your core values.
How do we find this clarity in a world full of noise?
It's simpler than you think:
• Start with honest reflection
• Carve out time
• Silence the distractions
• Dig deep
Ask yourself:
• What are your non-negotiables?
• What legacy do you want to leave behind?
• How do you want to show up - for others and yourself?
These questions aren't just fun things to think about.
They're your compass, guiding you back to your core purpose.
Answer them honestly, and you'll uncover the fuel that'll drive you through any challenge.
Clarity isn't a one-time epiphany. It's a daily recommitment.
Life's chaos constantly threatens to pull you off course.
How do you stay on track?
• Make space for regular self-inquiry
• Use your purpose as a filter for every decision
• Let it be your north star in a world of distractions
When you're anchored in your "why," you can handle any "how" life throws at you.
So, seek clarity like your success depends on it - because it does.

Chasing success without clarity is like trying to hit a moving target blindfolded.
I've seen countless entrepreneurs spinning their wheels, mistaking motion for progress.
Here's how to cut through the noise and chart a course to sustainable success.
1. Define your destination
Without a clear endpoint, you're just wandering. Set the target today. Make it vivid. Visualize it, feel it, and paint a clear picture.
2. Understand your 'why'
Motivation fades. Purpose endures. Connect your goals to your core values. Ask yourself: "How does this goal align with who I want to be?" Then write it down.
3. Map your journey
Break big goals into small, actionable steps. Progress breeds momentum. Think weekly targets, not yearly mountains.
4. Flex with change
Plans shift. Adjust your route, not your destination. Rigidity breaks. Flexibility bends and bounces back.
5. Prioritize ruthlessly
Say no to good opportunities to say yes to great ones. Focus is power. Choose one 'Hell Yeah!' over ten 'Maybe's.
I spent years chasing vague notions of success.
Clarity changed everything.
• It was challenging.
• It was necessary.
• It was transformative.
Now I send a bi-weekly letter to entrepreneurs, leaders, and small business owners.

I'm learning to tune into life's rhythms.
Here's what's working for me:
🔍 Pay attention to energy levels
Low energy? It might be time to recharge, not push harder.
📊 Track your productivity
Spinning your wheels? Maybe it's time to shift gears.
🧘♀️ Listen to your body
Constant stress or illness? Your focus and output might need adjusting.
✍️ Journal daily
It reveals patterns you might miss in the day-to-day rush.
🎯 Set flexible goals
Allow room to adapt as your needs and circumstances change.
🚫 Practice saying no
It's okay to decline opportunities that don't align with your current phase.
🔄 Regular check-ins
Ask yourself: "Is this working? Do I need to adjust?"
It's not always easy to recognize when to pivot or persist. But it's crucial for growth.
Sometimes we push into a phase we're not ready for.
It's natural to want to be where we think we "should" be.
The reality is that each phase serves a purpose.
There are times for intense focus and times for stepping back. The challenge is knowing what you need right now.
Maybe you're also figuring out your current life phase. It's freeing to align with where you are, but it requires self-awareness and flexibility.
Stay open to what life's offering. It might not look like what you expected, but it could be exactly what you need.

What if you could accomplish more meaningful goals this year by shifting your mindset?
You can and it is through structured optimism.
Structured optimism expands possibility while pessimism shrinks it.
Let's explore how to transform your concept of success and unlock your potential.
We all face negativity that obstructs growth. But science shows our mindset directly enables possibility by shaping neurochemistry.
With consistent reconditioning, we can empower ourselves to achieve outcomes once considered impossible.
By retraining our mindset through gratitude journaling, visualization, affirmations, and mindfulness, studies show people increase meaningful goal accomplishment by 46% while reducing stress by 23%.
Doubling fulfillment is within reach by rewiring our brain's patterns.
Your Blueprint for Transformation:
Phase 1 - Awareness:
• Notice negative thought loops without judgment
• Track thoughts honestly to uncover roots
Phase 2 - Interrupt:
• Use tools daily to disrupt spirals: gratitude, affirmations, mindfulness, visualization
• Replace pessimistic patterns with optimistic alternatives
Phase 3 - Expand:
• Strengthen neural pathways to empowerment
• Recall successes, imagine possibilities, broaden perspectives
Committing to these steps primes you for increased productivity, healthier relationships, and clearer priorities.
Maintaining positivity grants access to expansive states of mind where you accomplish goals with enhanced vision, creativity, and support.
Key Principles to Remember:
1. "Your mindset shapes your reality." - Carol Dweck
2. "Gratitude turns what we have into enough." - Aesop
3. "What you focus on expands." - Robin Sharma
4. "The mind is everything. What you think you become." - Buddha
5. "Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right." - Henry Ford
6. "Change your thoughts and you change your world." - Norman Vincent Peale
Structured optimism isn't about ignoring challenges. It's about approaching them with a growth mindset, believing in your ability to learn, adapt, and overcome.
This perspective shift alone can dramatically increase your chances of success.
So, who do you want to become?
How will you leverage positivity to expand your possibilities?

Do you ever feel like you're on a hamster wheel of success, constantly chasing the next big win but never quite catching that elusive feeling of "I've made it"?
I've been there. Let me share something that has worked for me.
I used to be that guy - you know, the one who'd skip family dinners for "just one more email," who'd wake up at 3 AM with brilliant ideas (or so I thought).
Burnout city. But then I stumbled upon a crazy simple idea that flipped my world right-side up.
Enter the B.A.L.A.N.C.E. Framework.
No, it's not another productivity hack or time-management gimmick.
It's a reality check, a mindset shift, and a practical guide all rolled into one.
Here's the deal:
B - Be aware of the trade-offs
Picture this: landing that promotion might mean missing your kid's recital. Scaling your business could leave your health in the dust. It's not all rainbows, but it's not all storm clouds either. The trick? Spotting both before you're knee-deep.
A - Analyze your motivations
Time for some real talk. Ask yourself: If the external thing you are chasing disappeared tomorrow, would you still bust your butt for that next milestone?
Are you chasing your dreams or someone else's highlight reel?
L - Live in the present
Forget the 'next big thing' for a sec.
Try this: Next time you're gulping down lunch while emailing, stop. Taste your food. Feel the chair. Hear the sounds around you. Congrats, you just took your first step into the present.
A - Audit your progress regularly
Get real with yourself. Set a "sanity alarm" for 5 minutes daily.
Ask: Did today's hustle align with my big picture? Energy tank - full or running on fumes? Jot it down, trend it, face it.
N - Nurture relationships and self-care
Your relationships aren't speed bumps they are your crew to keep you going.
Set some non-negotiables: Phone-free dinners, Saturday adventures, or whatever fills your tank. Success tastes better when shared, trust me.
C - Celebrate accomplishments
Hit a milestone? Don't just tick it off and move on. Do a victory dance (even if you're alone in your office).
Share it. Savor it. Frame that first dollar or client email. Creating moments of joy fuels the journey ahead.
E - Enjoy the imperfect journey
Perfect balance is a myth, like inbox zero or wrinkle-free linen. Some days you'll crush it, others you'll feel crushed.
The magic? Learning to ride both waves.
Progress shouldn't undermine your well-being. Stay focused on meaningful growth, not just relentless achievement.
When you balance ambition with contentment, you're more likely to find success and happiness.
Start with one letter of B.A.L.A.N.C.E. today. Just one. See how it feels.
Then tomorrow, try another.
Before you know it, you'll be living a success story worth telling - one that doesn't end with "...and then I burned out."
Here's to your success.
John Brewer retweeted
You're stuck in a loop.
• More courses.
• More books.
• More skills.
But where's the output? Your ideas languish.
This is the 'Ready, Set, Wait...' Dilemma
Your all revved up with nowhere to go.
What is the Learning Paradox?
It's the cycle of constant preparation without action. You keep learning, but never feel ready to start.
Why it's dangerous:
-> You feel productive, but produce nothing
-> Knowledge becomes stale
-> Confidence erodes
-> Opportunities pass you by
-> Frustration builds
Signs you're trapped in the Learning Paradox:
1. Always finding "one more" course to take
2. Perfectionism paralysis
3. Overthinking every step
4. Constantly comparing yourself to experts
5. Using "I'm not ready" as an excuse
The comfort of inaction is an illusion.
The real cost? Your dreams unrealized.
Break free from the cycle:
1. Set a launch date- Don't wait for perfection. Imperfect action beats perfect inaction.
2. Start small- Break your goal into micro-steps. Progress builds momentum.
3. Embrace imperfection- Flaws are feedback. They guide your growth.
4. Surround yourself with doers- Learn from those who've taken the leap.
5. Daily action- Consistency compounds. Small steps lead to big changes.
Remember: Your knowledge is like a locked trunk. Practice is the key that unlocks it.
Transform "someday" into today.
Bridge the gap from thought to action.
5 steps to get started:
1. Set a clear launch goal and timeline
2. Break it down into micro-actions
3. Do something small daily
4. Review and refine
5. Repeat - consistency compounds
Bring your ideas to life - imperfectly, beautifully, and without regret. You have brilliance within you - it's time to unlock it.
Turn preparation into meaningful progress.
John Brewer retweeted
"I wish I had..." —the soundtrack of the stuck.
Turn it into "I'm glad I did."
Have you ever asked yourself "what is the cost of waiting?"
It's a powerful question I ask when coaching someone who feels stuck.
This is a loaded question that can help you get unstuck and move forward.
The answer typically has to do with mental roadblocks.
• Imposter syndrome
• Analysis paralysis
• Perfectionsim
These roadblocks can stop you from trying anything.
But what's the real cost of inaction?
• Time
• Experience
• Growth
The costs may not seem significant in the moment, but they compound over time.
Action taken today has the power to compound and lead to significant progress.
Ask yourself:
• What could I achieve if I started today?
• How much closer to my goals would I be in a month, a year, or five years?
• What experiences am I missing out on by waiting?
Take action, even if it's imperfect.
So how do you break free?
Start by taking one small action today, no matter how imperfect.
Action creates clarity and momentum.
Start with small, manageable steps:
• Break your goal down into actionable tasks
• Set realistic deadlines
• Celebrate your progress along the way
The real question isn't what is the cost of action - it's what is the cost of inaction?
Of letting your dreams slowly slip away?
What are you going to do today that you will thank yourself for tomorrow?

I love to coach.
It’s energizing and something that I look forward to.
I don’t love to social media. It’s fun and I’ve learned a lot about creating content.
But it is a grind.
But there is one thing that amazes me related to social media…
The incredibly smart and talented people that I have gotten to meet up with that I never would have met otherwise.
Here are a few accounts of people I have gotten to know thanks to social media that you should absolutely check out.
Great people doing great things.
@therileymcghee- check out his amazing program
@AidanBrands- I look forward to his podcast every week.
@Bell99Lesley- Anytime I see her name on my feed I look forward to it. Coaching others and knows her shit.
@HeyJeffFelten- 2 words, email sequence. Incredibly nice guy that also has the most approachable course I have purchased.
@StuLierich- Helping other craft their brand voice and is the coolest Aussie I know.
@ericasmyname- I have learned more about writing from her than probably anyone else.
The list could go on.
Sometimes it feels like social media sucks but the connections and friendships that you can make on here make it worth it.
Who has been one of your favorite connections you have made thanks to social media?

Ever feel like a human rubber band?
You're not alone.
I've seen it countless times: successful professionals, stretched to their limits. Designer suit, bloodshot eyes, coffee permanently in hand.
They all say the same thing: "I'm being pulled in a million directions."
It's the modern epidemic.
We try to be everything to everyone.
Business, family, friends - they all want a piece of us.
And we convince ourselves it's a time management problem.
It's not.
It's about clarity.
• We don't know what we want.
• We're too busy justifying what we think we need.
• We haven't learned to be brutally honest - with ourselves or others.
We're living in fear.
This fear keeps us elastic, bending to every demand. But at what cost?
Here's how we get tangled up:
1. The People-Pleaser Trap
Our worth becomes tied to how much we do for others.
2. The Endless Stretch Cycle
We overextend to avoid facing our true selves.
Eventually, we snap.
We're left wondering, "Is this all there is?"
What if there's another way?
What if, instead of constantly expanding, we reshaped our boundaries?
What if we defined success on our own terms?
If this is resonating with you...
It's time for a new approach.
I call it: The Elasticity Reframe
Step 1: Shift from Stretch Armstrong to Sculptor
Stop trying to be everything. Start carving away the nonessential.
Action: Block out 3 hours this week. Identify your Top 3 Life Priorities.
Why? To reconnect with what matters to you.
Step 2: Focused Flexibility
Develop intentional adaptability, not half assed stretching.
Action: Write a "Not-To-Do List" of commitments you'll decline.
Why? To gain clarity on where to bend and where to stand firm.
Step 3: Build in Recovery Time
Prevent burnout. Maintain your natural resilience.
Action: Schedule daily "snap back" moments for yourself.
Why? To have energy for what's important.
Small, purposeful choices create meaningful growth.
This isn't about doing less. It's about doing more of what matters.
I've seen this work wonders.
One client went from feeling constantly pulled apart to rediscovering his center.
His flexibility became a strength, not a weakness.
Most importantly? He had energy for what mattered.
You can have this too. It starts with a simple question:
What shape do you want your life to take?
Not the shape others expect. The shape you want.
Ready to find your shape?
To create sustainable success?
