An update from @DonjonLedger regarding Germany 🔽
Following reports from one person in Germany, our team inspected devices from retail and distributor stock across the country, including units from the stores named. None showed any sign of tampering. No loss of funds related to implants has been reported anywhere in Europe.
We have not yet been able to examine the devices shown online. We invite their owner to send them to our security team so we can analyze them and share our findings.
Update on Ledger devices at MediaMarkt Saturn 🔽
As of Oct. 13th, MediaMarkt Saturn has stopped, with Ledger’s alignment, the sale of Ledger devices in their stores and online while the investigation continues, following the report of an implant from one customer in Germany. No loss of funds were reported.
We have no indication that Ledger's infrastructure, systems or services were compromised. Ledger Support is reviewing user reports, and Ledger’s cybersecurity experts, the Donjon will be examining the devices we receive: support.ledger.com.
If you have questions about a device you bought, contact Ledger Support at support.ledger.com. Ledger will never call you, message you directly or ask for your 24-word recovery phrase.
Many claims and figures circulating online are unverified. Scammers often try to take advantage of incidents like this. Rely only on official Ledger and MediaMarkt Saturn channels for updates. We will share more as the investigation continues.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Ledger claimed MediaMarkt Saturn stopped selling Ledger devices in stores and online as of Oct. 13. Reports show a store was still selling them hours later with staff unaware, and products remain listed on MediaMarkt sites.

72 hour update on reseller CryptoBilis incident 🔽
As the investigation continues, we are working with relevant authorities. The volume of impacted devices is limited. We know this is concerning, especially for those directly affected, and we are reaching out to impacted users.
To date, all confirmed cases related to the disclosed draining incident of Oct 9th, 2026, involve devices sold through the Southeast Asia reseller CryptoBilis. Our systems and direct sales channels remain unaffected.
We take the CryptoBilis situation seriously and are actively investigating.
We encourage impacted users to reach out to Ledger Support through official channels and file complaints with their local law enforcement authorities. As a reminder, CryptoBilis has confirmed having ceased all sales of hardware wallets.
We are reminding our authorized resellers and distributors to source products only through authorized channels and never to restock returned products.
Also, we strongly advise users not to purchase from unauthorized resellers, where the risk of buying suspicious, counterfeit or modified devices is important as nothing operates under ledger security guidelines.
Security isn’t static and this incident underscores why we continuously review and strengthen our distribution and anti-tamper processes.
We are continuously improving that work now and events like this strengthen our resolution: reviewing authorized reseller controls, advancing hardware protections, and cooperating with authorities. Thanks to @SEAL_911 for their collaborative support and all their efforts.
This is an ongoing threat that doesn’t just impact Ledger, but the whole ecosystem, and we are calling others in the space to work with us on making improvements for users.
We believe in jointly working with researchers, other vendors and partners on improving industry chain-of-custody practices and anti-tamper techniques. Raising the bar on physical supply-chain integrity benefits the entire ecosystem. If you have relevant information, contact [email protected].
For CryptoBilis buyers: do not initialize unused devices. If already set up, move to a new seed on a device from Ledger. If you have concerns that your device was impacted by the CryptoBilis incident, please contact Ledger Support through the official site: support.Ledger.com.
Ledger Support is available 24/7 to answer your questions and concerns.
Scammers often try to take advantage of incidents like this. Rely only on official Ledger channels. Ledger will never call you, DM you, or ask for your 24-word recovery phrase.

We are 100% focused on following up to last week’s security incident, making sure incidents like this are prevented in the future, and that the ecosystem remains safe.
We are aware of approximately $600k in assets impacted, stolen from users blind signing on EVM DApps.
Ledger will make sure victims affected will be made whole, and are committing to work with the DApp ecosystem to allow Clear Signing, and no longer allow Blind Signing with Ledger devices by June 2024.
Read more:
We affirm our CEO & Chairman @_pgauthier’s promise xitter.cf/_pgauthier/status/1735… to make sure victims who had their assets stolen on Dec 14th, 2023 by the attacker together with angel drainer are made whole, including users who are not Ledger customers.
We commit, by any way possible, including gestures of goodwill, to make sure this is done by the end of February, 2024. We are already in contact with many impacted users and are actively working through the specifics with them.
We remind users that if you signed a transaction on affected DApps Dec 14th, 2023, best security practices would recommend revoking any authorized transactions to further reduce impact from the malicious code.
We are announcing that by June 2024, users will no longer be able to Blind Sign with Ledger devices. Our commitment is to work with the community and DApp ecosystem to allow Clear Signing so users can verify all transactions on Ledger devices before signing. This will lead to a new standard to protect users and encourage Clear Signing across DApps.
Front-end attacks have happened many times before and will continue to plague our ecosystem. The only foolproof countermeasure for this type of attack is to always verify what you consent to on your device.
This is only possible with Clear Signing: meaning you can see and verify exactly what you sign on a secure display.
If the ecosystem continues to allow Blind Signing, users remain at risk.
We ask DApp developers to support the Clear Signing security brick. Please reach out to us through our Developer portal (developer.ledger.com) or Discord (discord.com/invite/ledger) so we can work together to add Clear Signing to your DApp.
We have detailed the cause of this hack and our security team’s response to this in a Ledger Connect Kit Incident Report on our Ledger tech and security blog:
ledger.com/blog/security-inc…
We remind you your Ledger devices and Ledger Live have always been secure to use, and were not made vulnerable by this exploit.
If you believe you may have been affected by the attack, please reach out via our Ledger Help Center to find out more:
