We’re proud to announce the signing of an MoU between @LegalPracticeRW and @hilexpartners to strengthen support and capacity building for #journalists, #judges, #lawyers, and other relevant stakeholdersin #MediaLaw, #FreedomOfExpression, and #HumanRights. Thanks to the #ILPD management!
This marks the launch of an initiative aimed at enhancing legal capacity for journalists and justice actors across #Rwanda and the region.
At a time when the intersections between journalism, law, and human rights are becoming more complex, this partnership addresses urgent needs. While journalists face increasing legal challenges from court reporting to defamation claims due to the lack of knowledge, legal practitioners often lack sufficient understanding of press freedoms and ethical journalism too.
This initiative bridges those gaps through joint training, legal assistance, and policy development.
The program will deliver certified training in media law and freedom of expression, while fostering stronger collaboration between the media and justice sectors.
Its implementation will engage key institutions including the @RMC_Rwanda @RwandaJudiciary , @RIB_Rw @ProsecutionRw , @Rwanda_Bar @ARJ_Rwanda @GovernanceRw among others.
Together, we advance justice and responsible freedom of expression.
🤝@LegalPracticeRW and H-I LEX Partners have signed an #MoU to strengthen support & #capacitybuilding for judicial officers, lawyers, journalists, media professionals in media law, freedom of expression, and human rights law.
Together, we advance justice and press freedom! 🕊️⚖️
