NEW BABY! Lenana has just introduced us to her second son, Laki. Nearly two months had passed since Lenana's last visit, but this proud mum returned to Ithumba flanked by her firstborn, Lapa, and her new calf. Lenana paraded the latest member of the family outside the stockades, seemingly inviting the Keepers who raised her to admire little Laki — a poignant moment for everyone. Once introductions were complete, the trio disappeared into the lush Tsavo wilderness. Laki’s arrival is a testament to Lenana’s incredible journey from orphan to a thriving, wild-living matriarch. Today's short thread - wicked historical women, because not everybody's granny was a saint, right? 1st up, the Duchess of Sutherland, who ordered vicious evictions on her estates during the Clearances. There's a memorial to her in a pub in Partick, where she is named on a urinal.

Bay Area: you have 20 minutes before possible #tsunami arrives. We don't know yet IF a tsunami is occurring. The side to side motion of the earthquake slip reduces risk of severe tsunami. STILL, this is a real threat, especially for bays/docks/marinas/coastal structures.

@NandosUK: YOUR CHICKEN IS KILLING OUR RIVERS The #RiverWye shows us what happens when massive corporations put profit before nature. The transformation from a thriving ecosystem to a murky, polluted waterway isn’t just tragic - it’s a stark warning... 🧵1/2

Frank Lampard the Children's Author? He's got a job as a football manager of a footall team. Well, that is terrific news. I'm a children's author too & I could do with some cash injection. I am available to manage any football team you like. How hard can it be?

Beginning to understand why so many Americans are obsessed with trans issues and panicking about being replaced. They think there are 21x more trans people, 27x more muslims, 15x more jews, 5x more asians, 3x more black people, and 2x more immigrants than there actually are.

Sad story in The Times about 88 year old farmer, John Kemp-Welch, who works 5,000 acres of difficult hill farming land in Scotland. Fortunately, he somehow found time to be Chair of the London Stock Exchange, a stockbroker for 30 years and on the board of HSBC.
Here’s a short story about who wins and loses from the status quo of our inheritance tax rules - and about, what you might politely call ‘sub-optimal’ journalism🧵

Says the woman who is literally arguing with the science that shows that there is far more to sex and gender than XX and XY chromosomes. I don’t except politicians to know everything but it would be nice if they didn’t spout shite.
Women = XX Men = XY You can’t argue with science! #HoldTheLine

When lay persons and the medical system work as hoped and designed, people’s lives are changed. If you want to make a difference, learn CPR, the signs of a stroke, and if you are in medicine, follow @EM_RESUS.
Here's a video I made breaking down this amazing case a man who was rushed to the ER by paramedics after his wife called 911 #FOAMed
