David Kogan, chairman of the Independent Football Regulator, has confirmed that the watchdog has the power to REMOVE club owners who fail its ownership standards. 🗣️ Kogan: "We have the power to ask an owner to step away from a club if we believe that they run a club in a way that is neither fit, fair or done with propriety." When asked whether an owner could REFUSE to sell, he replied: 🗣️ "No, no, no. We've got absolute power to do so." The regulator could also launch its OWN investigation into City's ownership and senior executives once the club's Premier League appeal is concluded. City have appealed the commission's findings over serious financial-rule breaches and maintain that the verdict is wrong. No forced sale has been ordered, and the regulator has NOT yet decided whether to investigate City. But the consequences could potentially go far beyond points deductions, fines or relegation.
