Homes in L.A. were still smoldering when Zillow rents started to spike.

A furnished Bel Air home went on Zillow today for $29,500 / month. A few months ago, it was asking $15,900.

The recent immigration surge doesn't align with the high growth in rents and home prices but immigrants do help expand the supply of much-needed US homes: immigrants accounted for 34% of those who worked in construction trades in 2023, says @riordanfrost.
