House Committee on Agriculture and Food chairperson and Quezon Rep. Mark Enverga urged the Department of Agriculture (DA) to immediately comply with the Department of Budget and Management’s (DBM) requirements to secure the release of the remaining P14 billion in government funds for preparations to mitigate the impact of the El Niño phenomenon.
During Thursday’s interview, Enverga said P62 billion was allocated under the DA’s budget this year to finance interventions to protect farmers and the country’s agricultural sector from prolonged drought.
