Actually Caleb placing the cable into our arm is very interesting... I'm immediately reminded of that mysterious part in Caleb's augmented arm that we saw in Vinesurge Instinct. He didn't tell us anything about it except for saying it's a "backup" and looking at it fondly.

Backup....backup....the USB in this case might not be a backup of anything but perhaps his permissions. Maybe MC gave this "necklace" to Caleb to make him his own "person". As in, she maybe gave him all the keys and permissions for his systems on that USB drive, to free him.
