As you may have noticed, NASA is my first love when it comes to aviation, and that will always be true. So catching the X-59 QueSST at NAS JRB Fort Worth today is something extremely special. This is my first time catching an X-plane!
The X-59 is an experimental aircraft developed by Lockheed Martin Skunk Works for NASA to test quiet sonic booms. It completed its first flight on October 28, 2025, making today the one-year anniversary of its first flight. How fitting to catch it on such a special day!

😂😂😂 I love this answer.
Thank you! Hopefully no one took Grok’s advice yesterday. 😅😅😅
@LensOfMae Remember when you asked @grok why people shouldn’t follow you? Good thing no one listened
Well news is out of the bag! We have our first visitor this afternoon.
NASA862 F-18 Hornet arriving at NAS JRB Fort Worth.
The NASA859 (X-59 Quesst) just departed El Paso, Texas and is inbound CARSWELL FIELD AIRPORT (FORT WORTH, TX) NFW along with NASA 802 (Gulfstream) and NASA 862 (F-18)

We just did a major restock at Runways & Relics!
Yesterday was spent getting everything together, organizing, and preparing a whole lot of new inventory for the booth. We even added this beautiful new display case, which was exactly what we needed to showcase all of these gorgeous airplane models!
We’ve added some incredible commercial and military aircraft models, along with plenty of other new finds. If you’re into aviation, military history, or unique collectibles, you’ll definitely want to stop by and see what’s new!
And not to mention, we just added a Halloween weekend sale! Get 10% off our entire booth, excluding items marked firm.
Looking for something to do on Saturday in the DFW area? Mid-Cities Antique Mall is also hosting an outdoor parking lot sale with even more vendors! It kicks off at 7 AM, so come early and see what treasures you can find!

Is there anything like watching the F-22 do what it does best?
Captain “Laz” Le Tourneau throws the Raptor into a sharp turn on takeoff at the Amigo AirSho in El Paso, Texas.
Some things never lose their Mach appeal.
In El Paso this morning for the Amigo Airsho!
This makes our 5th airshow of the season, and we realized last night that we’ve had to fly to every single one this year. Not a single one was a road trip!
With how our schedule is looking, this will probably be our last airshow of the year. What a way to wrap up the season!
You got it @DiFFn_fun!
Landed safely at our destination this evening! We had some beautiful lightning on our way in, which made for quite the arrival.
Anyone recognize where we are?
Husband has been gone for a 17-day trip, something he hasn’t had to do in quite a few months. Yesterday, we were on the phone and he was complaining about needing smaller shirts since he’s gone down TWO sizes.
So naturally, after picking him up today and heading home, we turned right back around and went to the airport! 😅
He spoiled me with a trip to the Admirals Lounge before our flight, and now we’re off on an adventure. I get to see somewhere he’s flown into quite a few times, and he hopefully gets to find some new shirts tomorrow!
These last minute trips are our specialty.

Just a friendly reminder to make sure you have 2FA set up on your accounts! Someone tried to gain access to mine this week, but thankfully, they weren’t successful.
I didn’t click on any suspicious links, so they probably just tried to guess my password was something like ILoveLockheedMartin35. 😅
Sorry if I’ve missed anyone’s replies! I’ll be catching up on those today.
When you’re sitting on the dock, enjoying the cooler weather, and suddenly hear a B-52 is coming in!
TUFF61 on approach at NAS JRB Fort Worth this afternoon. Look at the flex on that turn out!
And the best part? This is our BACKYARD. We get to sit on the dock and watch BUFFs come in like it’s just another afternoon. How lucky are we?!
It really doesn’t get much better than this.
Flashback Friday to a year ago at Dyess Air Force Base. Getting some B-1 Bone action, with a C-130 making an appearance.
The first B-1B Lancer entered service in October 1986, so it’s a pretty fitting month for this one.
Did you know that in full afterburner, the B-1 burns about 70 lbs of fuel per second? That’s roughly 600 gallons per minute!
Have you had the chance to experience a B-1 in full afterburner? It’s something you feel in your chest.
Another lifetime ago, in Alaska…I miss that job.
Let’s see your boat/ship captures ⛵️
From small rowboats to massive ocean liners—anything that floats!
Appreciating the last warm day in the backyard before the cold front hits.
Who am I kidding? It’s Texas. It’ll probably be 85° on Christmas again. 😅
The kiddo tried to roast me last weekend when I was taking videos of the wildlife. She told me I wasn’t National Geographic. I told her no, but we basically live in Nat Geo. 😂
Seriously, there’s so much awesome wildlife right here in our own backyard!
