WHEN CRITICISM BECOMES A THREAT TO GOVERNMENT: MUST SIERRA LEONE’S RADIO STATIONS APPLAUD THE SLPP TO REMAIN IN BUSINESS? The Minister of Information Must Speak Up as SLPP PRO Mambo Accuses Radio Stations of Seeking to Unseat the Government By Sorie Ibrahim Koroma, ABA (Accredited Business Accountant) There is something profoundly concerning about allegations attributed to the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Public Relations Officer, Mambo, suggesting that some radio stations in Sierra Leone are working to unseat the government of President Julius Maada Bio. If accurately reported, this allegation raises serious questions about the ruling party’s understanding of democratic governance, freedom of expression, constitutional accountability and the independence of the media. THE THREE-OFFICE MINISTER: WHY DR. DAVID SENGEH'S CONTINUED TENURE IS UNCONSTITUTIONAL By Sorie Ibrahim Koroma, ABA ( Accredited Business Accountant) Sierra Leone's 1991 Constitution does not plead. It commands. Section 56(3) provides in plain, unambiguous language: A Minister or a Deputy Minister shall not, while he continues in office, hold any other office of profit or emolument whether by way of allowances or otherwise, whether private or public, and either directly or indirectly. There is no room for interpretation. While in office as Minister, you hold no other office of profit. Not one. Directly or indirectly. Private or public. This is the constitutional standard against which the Chief Minister, Dr. David Moinina Sengeh, must now be judged — by his own televised admission. IMAGINE SIERRA LEONE’S FIRST KRIO KINDERGARTEN, PRIMARY, SECONDARY SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES: WILL PARENTS ENROLL THEIR CHILDREN? A Bold Educational Revolution: Why Sierra Leone Must Consider Teaching Children in the Language They Understand! By Sorie Ibrahim Koroma, ABA (Accredited Business Accountant) Imagine waking up one morning to discover that Sierra Leone has established its first generation of educational institutions where children are taught mathematics, science, physics, chemistry, biology, geography, history, economics, accounting, agriculture, technology and other subjects primarily in Krio. Imagine a child entering kindergarten speaking Krio, progressing through primary school, advancing to secondary school and eventually graduating from college without having to struggle with English as the principal language of instruction. BLOGGERS ARE SPEAKING TO THE NATION, WHILE JOURNALISTS ARE SPEAKING TO THE ENGLISH-SPEAKING MINORITY: WHY KRIO MUST BECOME SIERRA LEONE'S NATIONAL LANGUAGE By Sorie Ibrahim Koroma, ABA (Accredited Business Accountant) There is an important communication revolution taking place in Sierra Leone, and it raises a fundamental question about national identity, access to information, democracy and the future of our country: Why are bloggers increasingly connecting with ordinary Sierra Leoneans in ways that traditional journalism often struggles to achieve? One major difference stands out: LANGUAGE. Bloggers are increasingly communicating in Krio, the language understood by people across different communities, social backgrounds and educational levels. Traditional journalism, particularly formal newspaper journalism, continues to rely heavily on English, the language inherited from British colonial administration. This difference is more than a matter of communication style. It raises a serious national question: Should a country's public information system depend primarily on a language that many citizens cannot comfortably read, or should it communicate in a language that the majority can understand? facebook.com/share/p/1E98rTg…

IT IS POSSIBLE! WHY SIERRA LEONE MUST RETHINK ENGLISH AS THE PRINCIPAL LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION A Rebuttal to the Argument That Sierra Leone Cannot Teach in Krio By Sorie Ibrahim Koroma The argument that Sierra Leone cannot adopt Krio as the principal language of instruction because of economic, linguistic, and logistical challenges represents precisely the kind of thinking that has kept our educational system trapped in inherited colonial structures. My response is simple: IT IS POSSIBLE! The question is not whether Sierra Leone can afford to teach its children in Krio. The more important question is whether we can afford to continue operating an educational system in which thousands of children struggle to understand the language through which they are expected to acquire knowledge. The reality is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. The October 30, 2026 edition of The Informant newspaper carried a disturbing headline: “Quality Education in Trouble… 80,000 WASSCE Candidates Failed English.” This reported figure should provoke serious national reflection about the direction of education in Sierra Leone. SIERRA LEONE MUST BREAK FREE FROM COLONIAL EDUCATION! WHY KRIO MUST BECOME THE PRINCIPAL LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION IN OUR SCHOOLS By Sorie Ibrahim Koroma, Accredited Business Accountant ARE WE EDUCATING OUR CHILDREN OR FORCING THEM TO LEARN THROUGH A LANGUAGE THEY DO NOT FULLY UNDERSTAND? Sierra Leone must have the courage to question one of the longest-standing assumptions in its education system: that English must be the principal language through which every child acquires knowledge. For decades, we have inherited and maintained an educational structure in which English dominates classroom instruction, examinations, academic communication and the measurement of educational achievement. But an uncomfortable question confronts us: Continue Reading here facebook.com/share/p/1CkMUhV…

ALERT: WITHHELD RESULTS, WASTED YOUTH, STOLEN FUTURE — WHY EXAM INJUSTICE IS ELECTORAL JUSTICE! Freetown — 47,454 futures put on hold. 47,454 young people denied certificates, denied jobs, denied dignity. This is how a drug epidemic is made. And this is why electoral justice can no longer wait. Year after year the system crushes them — 34,525 withheld in 2023, 27,097 in 2024, 13,213 in 2025, now 47,454 in 2026. Over 132,000 shattered in five years. The state calls it "fighting malpractice." The streets call it recruitment into kush, tramadol, and hopelessness. A government that cannot conduct clean exams cannot conduct clean elections. The same machinery of manipulation, delay, withheld truth, and punishment of the innocent that buries our children's results is the machinery that buries the people's vote. You cannot trust a system to count ballots fairly when it cannot grade papers fairly. Electoral justice means the right to have your voice counted. Exam justice means the right to have your work counted. Both have been withheld. Release the innocent students. Clean the exams. Clean the voter roll. Clean the count. Sierra Leone's youth deserve a future that is not withheld — at the exam hall, in the streets, and at the ballot box. I support Dr. Samura Kamara’s Electoral Justice!

IN SIERRA LEONE, 47,454 STUDENTS, 47,454 FUTURES AT STAKE! WHY PARENTS AND STUDENTS MUST CONSIDER SUING WAEC OVER WITHHELD WASSCE RESULTS By S. I. Koroma A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL CRISIS THAT DEMANDS ACCOUNTABILITY The reported withholding of the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results of 47,454 candidates in Sierra Leone raises fundamental questions about accountability, transparency, fairness, and the protection of the educational future of our young people. According to reports published on 27 October 2026, the affected candidates comprise 26,735 females and 20,719 males. Their results have been withheld over suspected examination malpractice pending investigations. Let us pause and consider the magnitude of this situation. 🇸🇱 PUBLIC ALERT: 47,000 WAEC RESULTS WITHHELD! AN MIT GRADUATE AS CHIEF MINISTER—WHO WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR SIERRA LEONE’S EDUCATION CRISIS? By Sorie Ibrahim Koroma, Accredited Business Accountant SIERRA LEONE MUST WAKE UP! The reported withholding of 47,000 WAEC examination results over alleged examination malpractice raises a disturbing national question: Is Sierra Leone’s education system delivering the quality education that the SLPP Government has promised its citizens? Even more striking is the fact that Sierra Leone has a Chief Minister who is an MIT graduate. With such a highly educated figure serving at the centre of government, the public has every reason to demand measurable progress, institutional accountability, and effective coordination across the education sector. But what does a flagship Free Quality Education programme mean if the nation cannot demonstrate that its children are acquiring the knowledge and skills they need to succeed? facebook.com/share/p/1GA7q2B…

SIERRA LEONE: QUALITY EDUCATION OR QUALITY PROMISES? University Lecturers on Strike, Teachers Facing Welfare Concerns, and a Government Flagship Agenda Under Scrutiny By Sorie Ibrahim Koroma, ABA Accredited Business Accountant/Advisor THE CONTRADICTION SIERRA LEONE CANNOT IGNORE A nation cannot credibly pursue quality education while ignoring the welfare of the people responsible for delivering it. In Sierra Leone, education has been placed at the centre of the government’s human capital development agenda. Yet the continuing dispute between the government and academic staff at public tertiary institutions has exposed a fundamental challenge: Can the government achieve its flagship education ambitions if the educators responsible for delivering quality education remain dissatisfied with their salaries and conditions of service? WHEN JAGABAN ACTS, THE TRUMPET OF ECONOMIC TRANSFORMATION BEGINS TO SOUND How Jagaban’s Development Initiatives Are Challenging the Government of Sierra Leone to Rethink Leadership, Economic Responsibility, and National Progress By Sorie Ibrahim Koroma, Accredited Business Accountant (ABA) When private initiative begins addressing public needs, a nation must ask difficult questions about leadership, responsibility, and the meaning of economic transformation. INTRODUCTION: WHEN ACTION SPEAKS LOUDER THAN GOVERNMENT PROMISES There comes a time in the history of every nation when citizens must stop measuring leadership by the promises politicians make and start measuring it by the results they deliver. DEGREE HOLDERS HAVE CAUSED MORE HARM THAN GOOD IN SIERRA LEONE! THE CASE FOR VISION, PRACTICAL INTELLIGENCE, AND TRANSFORMATIONAL LEADERSHIP By Sorie Ibrahim Koroma, Accredited Business Accountant INTRODUCTION: WHEN EDUCATION FAILS TO DELIVER NATIONAL PROSPERITY Sierra Leone is a country blessed with abundant natural resources, fertile agricultural land, a hardworking population, and enormous potential for economic transformation. Yet, despite decades of formal education, successive development plans, and the presence of university graduates in positions of national responsibility, the country continues to struggle with poverty, unemployment, inadequate infrastructure, weak institutions, and persistent economic challenges. This raises a difficult but necessary question: What is the value of academic qualifications if a nation continues to struggle with the very problems its educated leaders were expected to solve? Sierra Leoneans must be courageous enough to examine the relationship between education, leadership, and national development. Continue reading here facebook.com/share/p/1DaXj5r…
