Important message from Commonwealth Games swimmer Archie Goodburn and positive that Andy Burnham will meet him to discuss improving treatments for brain tumours.
Delighted that the Welsh Minister for Health has committed to a chapter on the less survivable cancers in Wales’s new Cancer Strategy. We will work with the Welsh Government to ensure it drives up survival for those affected by the six less survivable cancers in Wales.
Yesterday, the APPG on Less Survivable Cancers met to discuss how to drive innovation in treating rare cancers. We're grateful to Minister @SharonHodgsonMP for joining to hear our thoughts and to @JoshFG MP for chairing.
Two fantastic charities have joined our coalition to improve outcomes for those with less survivable cancers (LSCs). Brain Tumour Research @braintumourrsch focuses on finding a cure for all brain tumours and Tenovus Cancer Care @tenovuscancer works in Wales on three three LSCs.
We welcome the roll-out of these AI-powered X-ray tools across all NHS trusts. Lung cancer is one of the six less survivable cancers and causes around 35,000 UK deaths per year. Faster diagnosis improves outcomes, so we want to see more investment in tech like this in future.
AI-powered X-ray tools have already helped four million patients get a faster lung cancer diagnosis or the all-clear.
We're rolling this technology out across every NHS trust to speed up diagnosis and treatment.

Right now, 7 in 10 people with pancreatic cancer are told there is no treatment available for them. Their chance of survival is taken away.
This is unacceptable.
