Lourdes Library

I shelved my last #SchoolLibrary book & played my last #SchoolLibraryDND #SchoolLibraryRPG game back in March. As the school year closes, this account is now a memory. Thanks to all the @LourdesSec pupils & staff for 10 wonderfully joyful & chaotic years.

On Friday 13th March, I had to say goodbye to my @LourdesSec #SchoolLibrary where I'd spent 10 wonderfully weird years. I didn't expect the send off I'd get from all the wonderful (also wonderfully weird) Library regulars & from the staff. Thank you all so much 🥰😢

More #SchoolLibrarian last day shenanigans as some pupils did some fashion and hair makeovers. Picture 1: "I'm a unicorn!". Picture 2: Dapper Victorians (bonnets, top hats, & canes, o my!). Picture 3: Wearing all the cosy throws (there's a pupil under there somewhere).

For my last 3 days as @LourdesSec #SchoolLibrarian, it's the 2nd #SchoolLibrary #EmotionalSupportPlushies Week. It was a relaxed start & tomorrow there'll be #Storytime & a #TeddyBearsPicnic. All pupils & staff are invited to bring their toys along to join in 🥰

Can't quite believe it, but 10 years ago today, if my Facebook Memories are correct, I began my new job/reign of terror as @LourdesSec #SchoolLibrarian. I was somewhat nervous (or terrified), but the last decade has been mostly chaotic joy, wouldn't have missed it for anything.

You'd expect the end of a busy school week to be quiet after the final bell, but not in the @LourdesSec #SchoolLibrary! The #CrochetClub grows every week. In the #SchoolLibraryDND club, Boris the pig ran amok in 1 game, while another new pupil DM started a zombie-themed game.

This time last year, the @LourdesSec #SchoolLibrary had its 1st #DrawADinosaurDay celebration. It was so successful that it's back this year! Come to the Library tomorrow to meet some dinosaurs, read some dinosaur books, & join in the competition to design a new dinosaur 🦕🦖

The Christmas Holidays have begun! The @LourdesSec #SchoolLibrary had a busy last 2 days, but today at 2.30pm, we, in Bob "Kermit" Cratchit's words, started closing down for Christmas. My last act before locking up was to "light" the last candles on the book-themed #AdventWreath

Huge congratulations 🎊 to the @LourdesPerfArts staff & all the pupils on stage & behind the scenes for another fantastic @LourdesSec Christmas concert. I was blown away by the talent once again & am in a proper festive mood now 🥰🎄

Another of Ms McAvoy's S1 @Lourdes1English pupils decided instead to think about what the act of reading really is. @LourdesSec community, it's over to you. How would you read this book? #WordlessBooks

Ms McAvoy's S1 @Lourdes1English class made several fantastic contributions to the @LourdesSec #SchoolLibrary #BookWeekScotland #Friendship Tree 🥰. Tomorrow is the last day to add to the tree!🌳

Some @LourdesSec S4 #SchoolLibrary minions showed off their creativity today. Check out this v detailed monster 👹made on the @TechLourdes 3D printer & the new cat guardians of the Library light switches 😻.

There are a few saints considered the #PatronSaint of #Libraries. Today is the feast day of one of them: #KatherineOfAlexandria #CatherineOfAlexandria. Time to research how to celebrate her this week in the @LourdesSec #SchoolLibrary Image: @BLMedieval Kings MS 9, f. 58v

So #BookWeekScotland is officially over, but in the @LourdesSec #SchoolLibrary the activities & competition are not over yet. Pupils across all year groups have added their definitions of friendship to the Library #Friendship tree, with some funny, interesting & adorable ideas.

The @LourdesSec #SchoolLibrary volunteers did some exceptional work today on setting up the #Halloween #HauntedLibrary.

Talked myself hoarse at tonight's @LourdesSec Study Skills event. It was great getting to share my research nerd side with pupils & their families, showcasing all the resources & experience available in the #SchoolLibrary to support them through assignments, dissertations & exams
