The Patient Zero video is finally out in the world! Getting to work with Emmanuel Lubezki was something out of a dream sequence, and I learned so much from getting to watch his genius in action. I want to thank Dakota and Colin for trusting me with their time, taste, and talent (Giggling with your friend because youβre twinning for an entire shoot was a new and truly delightful experience). And Colinβs turn as a villain is even more impressive when you get to be around him. Heβs an absolute light and as kind as they come. Cara, thank you for agreeing to play the lusty other woman. Thatβs what friends are for?
With the Patient Zero video, I got to explore the cinematic and literary genres I love so much. I wanted to incorporate elements of gothic ghost stories, true crime, psychological thrillers all in a setting I hadnβt really shot in much. The house was a metaphor for the coldness of a relationship thatβs faded and atrophied. Thank you to Ethan Tobman for your insightful production design, and bringing that feeling to life. My editor Chancler Haynes has outdone himself. And lastly, thank you to the VMAs for giving us a World Premiere at the place where celebrating music videos became a thing. I will always go out of my way to support my friends and people who genuinely support my community. Thatβs what community is.
But DMing creators you barely interact with asking for raids because you need their viewers to hit Partner is fucking weird.
βI canβt do this on my own.β
Then maybe the answer isnβt asking other streamers to provide the audience for you. Build your own community. WORK on your content. Figure out why people arenβt staying and give them a reason to come back??
Raids should be support and not a strategy for borrowing someone elseβs community until Twitch gives you a checkmark.

Just some closing week thoughts for you all
The biggest thing is, thank you. Your response to our comms this week has injected our team with so much energy and hope, please know that
The next is, I know there are a lot of questions on the how, what, when of unvaulting. Including any potential future updates to D2 and whatβs beyond for Destiny
Thereβs going to be a very intentional process for all of it that will take time. But over the next few weeks (targeting prior to the end of October) weβll talk about what our first step is going to look like with more clarity
But instead of a traditional βroadmapβ comms Iβd rather talk about it through the lens of a progress bar. Bring you all closer, more consistently to our dev milestones. And just be transparent about any challenges we run into and show you the proof of work along the way that unlocks further understanding
That way when we share a release date weβre all on the same page and have the right expectations that leads directly into how we'll further celebrate Destiny's legacy and vision for the future
