When there is a sizeable swell sweeping into Loch Bracadale, #IsleOfSkye, there is a corner in the coastline near Fiscavaig, where fun times can be enjoyed. I love the sweep and pull of the inrushing waves, followed by the resounding boom as they bounce off the back wall, followed by a seemingly confused melee of white, aerated water. The 15 year old within me finds this spot immeasurably enjoyable.
There's a wonderful sea cave on the coastline between Fiscavaig and Talisker Bay, which I love popping into when I'm passing. The other day, there was a lazy swell which created resonating and visceral booms, emanating from a pitch black tunnel - the drums of the deep.
Listen to this with headphones to gain the best effect.
Life for me, is enhanced by playfulness. Luckily, now I’m in my sixties, I feel I have permission to be that rather quirky older bloke. It’s also a way in which I continue to keep myself active, stretch myself and continue to explore the world around me.

It’s very much the same here on Skye. I hope you’re well.
I live over there! Skye keeps on giving. A gorgeous walk from Orbost searching for the remains of an Iron Age round house.
I’m truly blessed to live in a stunning location. Walking up the road from the house to gaze out over this view, certainly eases any troubled thoughts I’m having.

The heather is glorious up here on Skye too. Best wishes to you.
It’s really lovely to be back on Skye. There’s this bank a few metres up the road from our house which is looking heatherly glorious at the moment.
