Seeking to encourage/equip pastors I become aware of my lack of knowledge, ability and spiritual depth. But teaching today from 2 Cor 4 reminded me that God put His treasure in clay pots -weak containers - on purpose, so that everyone would see the power belongs to Him not us

Now we demand that 12-year-olds specialize in one sport and spend their adolescence building college résumés.
We used to cultivate men. Now we manufacture applicants.
Solitude is God’s choice sanctuary where He stills our minds, quiets our hearts, and whispers those soft, secret words so long drowned out by our busyness.

Reject what God has not given.
The common response I hear when confronting religious people regarding their embracing of evil and celebration of All Hallows Eve is; “what’s wrong with it? It’s just for fun!”
A true disciple never guides his life based on “what’s wrong with it”, but on what is right and good.
What causes the people of God to chase after the darkness of evil?
What woman of God wishes to be a witch.
What born-again child desires to become a goblin or ghoul?
Why would those who have peace in their heart relish in terror?
And yet, All Hallows Eve comes. And they go.
