“Every #chronicillness and pain patient does not know, from day-to-day, how they are going to feel when they wake up, and each day has to be taken as it comes. In many cases, they don’t know from minute to minute.” buff.ly/4bPxABR @apainprincess #PainAwarenessMonth
I'm "feeling fine" a lot of the time. If I were honest, it would derail the conversation and make the other person feel bad in most cases. So I don't resent having to hide the pain; otherwise relationships with others would be more difficult.
“Never assume a #ChronicPain patient is not experiencing pain when they say that they’re fine… Recall a time you were in pain, multiply the intensity and try to imagine that pain’s 24/7—without any relief in sight.” buff.ly/lvzu9pt @apainprincess #invisibleillness #cpp

I have unbearable chronic pain. My friends told me that if I went to a specialist pain management clinic, they would finally be able to help me manage the pain that was so severe I could not longer work. But no. I went 4 year and they refused to even consider meds that worked.
“The #pain and other withdrawal symptoms from this forced taper are horrifying, and the pain I suffer is unrelenting… I have given up hope that I will ever receive the #painmanagement necessary to have some quality of life.” buff.ly/4gsV15T #opioidhysteria

Being disabled often means you don’t get to be spontaneous. You have to plan every detail of life down to the nth degree - energy, access, pain, timing - just to be able to do anything.
Survival is logistics.
It's so funnnnnn!! 🤠
“Life as we know it changes immensely when we are living with #chronicpain. Think about a time when you sprained an ankle…stuck on a couch…unable to do anything. Now turn that into months/years and you have some idea of what pain #patients live with.” buff.ly/3BYSdON
