A man who lured another man into the woods, R*PED him, threatened to K*LL him, and robbed him has been sentenced to just 12 YEARS in a British prison after investigators linked him to ANOTHER violent attack. Saleh Mahmud, 30, of Ashton-under-Lyne, Greater Manchester, was sentenced at Manchester Crown Court on November 4 after being convicted of two counts of r*pe and admitting several additional offenses involving two male victims. The first victim met Mahmud during a night out in Manchester city centre on December 23, 2025. The following day, the pair traveled to Oldham, where Mahmud led the man into an isolated wooded area in Failsworth. Despite the victim making it clear that he did not consent, Mahmud r*ped him. After the assault, Mahmud threatened to k*ll the man before stealing his mobile phone and bank cards and leaving him behind. The victim reported the attack to police and provided DNA samples, which investigators used to identify Mahmud. Officers arrested him at his home on December 29, just five days after the assault. During a search of the property, police recovered five mobile phones, small bags containing white powder, more than £3,300 in cash, and three driving licences belonging to other individuals. The evidence helped investigators connect Mahmud to another violent incident involving a second man. Days before the Failsworth attack, Mahmud had assaulted and robbed another victim inside the man's own home. The investigation ultimately resulted in convictions on two counts of r*pe, along with guilty pleas to robbery, common assault, two counts of fraud, intentional strangulation, and possession of criminal property. Both victims described suffering lasting physical and psychological harm from the attacks.
