Rigathi Gachagua's personal ambition will kill the United opposition faster than we can say WANTAM.
Gachagua has been handed a golden opportunity and a massive national platform to reinvent himself as a statesman, but he repeatedly chooses to retreat into tribal rhetoric.
Rather than fostering cross-regional visibility to build bridges, he actively seeks to force all political figures into rigid tribal blocks, directly hindering the emergence of any true national leadership. That is where he speaks of any leader from the perspective of their tribe.
By constantly shifting the national conversation back to ethnic zoning and prioritizing "Murima this, Murima that," he stifles the potential for countrywide unity. The conversation should be about KENYA, not Murima.
He forgets history; the historic 2002 Kibaki moment succeeded precisely because it was not an ethnic mobilization, but a completely united country rising together against the Moi regime.
