In Aberfan yesterday, it was very touching to see the delighted smiles of the local people as they met their King and Queen.
So much warmth from the Queen on a cold day and the King chatting to everyone and making them feel valued.
Prince William came without a coat - brave! - and it was notable how much time he gave to people, real meaningful conversations.
I felt we are lucky to have a Royal family to help commemorate one of our most painful national tragedies.
Sixty years on, we remember the 144 people who lost their lives in the Aberfan disaster.
Today, The King and The Queen, with The Prince of Wales, spent time at the Aberfan Memorial Garden and the Aberfan and Merthyr Vale Community Centre to honour their memory.
The Aberfan Memorial Garden stands on the site of Pantglas School, where 109 children and 5 teachers died when the coal tip collapsed onto the village.

The Prince of Wales unveiled the Aberfan Memorial Tree during a visit to Ynysowen Community Primary School to mark the 60th anniversary of the Aberfan disaster.
The memorial tree includes the names of all who died during the Aberfan disaster. The silver represents children, gold leaves were teachers and green were civilians.
