Fifty-nine items from the 1766 religious census, Ireland's first census, survive. This return, for the Union of Abington, in east County Limerick, compiled by Revd Gilbert Rawson, and dated 9 April 1766, is one of the finest of these very rare survivors.

It was great to meet with Ambassador Gray @ambausire and others including my old school mate chair of @LmkCivicTrust Donal Creaton. An exhibition really worth seeing. I loved to see the 19th Century wrangling that went on to get funding for the school. Some things do not change! Safe home Ambassador.
A special link between Limerick and Australia was celebrated today at the People's Museum on Pery Square.
The event was part of #Limerick's celebration of Heritage Week and its theme connections.
