Our campaign to protect Ireland’s Triple Lock is gathering momentum — we need your help to keep the pressure on.
We have already received an incredible response to our petition, with more than 30,000 signatures in less than 48 hours. Thank you to everyone who has signed and shared it.
PLEASE TAKE TWO MINUTES TO HAVE YOUR SAY:
Sign the petition: independentireland.ie/petiti…
Share it with friends, family and colleagues.
Contact your local TDs and Senators and ask them to support the petition and oppose the removal of the Triple Lock.
We have now written to the leaders of all political parties and to Independent representatives across the Oireachtas, asking them to support our petition and work together to stop the proposed changes to the Triple Lock.
This is about more than party politics. It is about Ireland’s neutrality, our independence and the safeguards that govern the deployment of our Defence Forces.
The Government is pushing ahead with a change that was not included in its Programme for Government. We believe such a significant decision should not be made without proper public scrutiny and a direct say for the Irish people.
We must also be clear about what is at stake. Peace enforcement is not peacekeeping. Any move towards a framework that could allow Irish troops to be deployed without the existing UN Security Council safeguard raises serious questions that deserve answers.
Now, as this Bill approaches its next stage, we need to put pressure on every TD and Senator who can help stop it — particularly the Independent TDs supporting the Government. They have an opportunity to stand up for Ireland’s neutrality and reject a change that risks weakening the safeguards around our Defence Forces.
If we work together, our voices cannot simply be ignored.

Every signature matters. Every conversation helps. Every elected representative who stands with the public strengthens our campaign.
Ireland has a proud tradition of military neutrality and peacekeeping. We must not allow that tradition to be eroded without the Irish people having their say.
Let’s keep the pressure on. Let’s protect the Triple Lock. Let’s defend Irish neutrality.
Thank you for your continued support.

Let’s send a clear message to Government: the Irish people deserve a say, and we do not want the Triple Lock changed without our consent.
Please share this post and help us reach even more people.
Irish neutrality belongs to the people of Ireland.

A certain political party seems to think the "revolt" happening on the continent should be brought here 😲.
Seriously, what's wrong with them?

The Government voted to make changes to Ireland’s Triple Lock, which governs the deployment of Irish Defence Forces overseas.
Do you believe the people should have been asked to vote on this issue? Who do you believe is driving the proposed changes? And has the Government broken its promise to the Irish people on the Nice and Lisbon Treaties?
We want to hear from you.

New Train Stations for 54,000 People Built Without Car Parks
Independent Ireland Councillor and spokesperson for Community Issues in Dublin, Linda de Courcy has called on the Government to provide dedicated car parking at Adamstown and Kishoge train stations. The stations serve two fast-growing West Dublin towns with a combined population of up to 54,000 people, but neither has a permanent, dedicated car park.
Kishoge serves the new town of Clonburris. Its only parking is on a ring road that has been narrowed from two lanes to one in each direction, and this is causing heavy traffic congestion every morning and evening. Plans for a large car park beside the station were drawn up but later dropped.
"These trains are fast, reliable, and packed at rush hour," said Cllr de Courcy. "If we want people to leave the car at home for the trip into town, the station has to be easy to reach. For many families, commuters, and older people, that means being able to drive to it."
The new DART+ South West line repeats the mistake. Apart from Hazelhatch and Clondalkin Fonthill, its stations will have no park-and-ride facilities, and Fonthill's 200 spaces fall well short of demand.
"This is the legacy of Green Party transport policy that treated drivers as a problem to be designed out," she said. "It needs to be replaced with common sense."
Cllr de Courcy is calling on the Government to:
- build ample car parking at Clondalkin Fonthill;
- work with South Dublin County Council to rezone land beside Adamstown and Kishoge stations for car parks; and
- include park-and-ride at every new DART+ South West station.
"Stations have to work for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers," she said. "In the 21st century, we shouldn't be building new train stations without the parking to go with them."

Liberal Woman Who’s The Emblem of French Plight
AN ELEGANT Parisian woman in a chestnut wool coat, sunglasses perched on the black headband in her long blonde hair, stands at the door of a ruined grocery shop as masked looters descend upon it.
She is every privileged, middle-class, thirtysomething Western woman you’ve ever seen at a pro-Palestinian, pro-immigrant march, wearing a keffiyeh and waving a 'Refugees Welcome' placard, chanting, 'From the river to the sea'.
Madame Everywoman has so despaired of the bigotry of the far right, and denounced the vile racism of the fascist commentators warning that Europe is being 'invaded' by Islamists, seeking to overrun and replace the continent’s indigenous population.
She has applauded the sight of blue-eyed policing on city streets across France, the UK, Italy, Germany as heart-twinging evidence of 'multiculturalism'. She’s supported the introduction of more halal outlets, even though the Islamic slaughter method is cruel and bloody, and welcomed the neutralisation of backward old Christian observances like Christmas and Easter into 'winter' and 'spring' festivals.
She’s supported bans on dogs being walked in certain parts of Paris because Islam considers them unclean, thinks burkas are an expression of female will, and insists that immigrants from non-Christian cultures enrich, energise and enlighten our home-grown Western societies. Unless they’re Jews, obviously.
And until that is, they active masked and such-handed to 'enlighten' the shelves of her friends' grocery store of all their goods — taking alcohol test, in many cases, leaving only the 'haram' pork products strewn on the floor — and enriching only themselves. The footage of Madame Everywoman coming face-to-spitting, seething face with the culture she has championed has circled the globe over the last few days, as the French riots spread countryside and beyond. 'This is not the cause,' she pleads with the masked looters, nearly all young men, as they push past her to ransack the store.
She has supported them, she wails, she is on their side, she shares their ideology, they have the same objectives of liberty, equality, peace, prosperity — burning and looting shops in dire suburbs was never in the script.
They push her aside, tell her clear off if she doesn’t want to get hurt, she turns to the camera, the picture of anguished realisation dawning just a little too late, a human metaphor for modern, liberal, progressive Europe’s tardy awakening to the medieval fate it has unwittingly sealed — there is no shared ideology, there is no political conviction, there’s no noble aspiration or mutual goal, just a brutal, marauding horde with no objective but to pillage and destroy, and nothing in their hearts but well-deserved contempt for useful Western idiots like Madame Everywoman and her keffiyeh-toting ilk. If asunder empathy has a face, it’s that elegant Parisian woman in her chic headband, her expensive coat and her utter bewilderment.
These protests are far more than shout poor educational facilities.
Pictures of thugs fleeing Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton stores with armfuls of designer clothing appear online, satirically captioned, 'French students desperately seeking new school uniforms.'
Now they are just a sinister flex by a menacing cohort which has steadily infiltrated western Europe over the past decade, exploiting colonial guilt, the positive, preening vanity that passes for political debate on social media, and the witless purity spiralling of liberal competitive wokeness.
Five years ago, it would have been considered a hate crime to suggest that while most migrants were genuinely well-intentioned people simply hoping for a better life, there was a significant number from incompatible cultures driven by envy and hatred of Western liberties, whose aim was to despoil, plunder and subjugate the liberal societies ...cont in comments

Michael Fitzmaurice TD Speaking on the Triple Lock and the Taoiseach's hypocrisy
What is happening in France and in other countries on the continent is heartbreaking. It is openly acknowledged by all media outlets the far left are playing a pivotal role in the destruction of communities, buildings and cities.
Now, our farthest left party, PBP want to bring the same to Dublin!
Are they totally insane?

This makes me angry, I got solar panels 4 1/2 years ago, there was a small grant, which helped. I didn't get the battery at the time as it was too expensive (it still is TBH).
They do really make a difference to electricty bills, even without the battery 🙏.
I know lots of hard working families who would love to get them but simply can't afford them. It is such a kick in the teeth that the government is offering a large grant to people on social welfare.
More and more people are saying to me, what's the point of working? I can see where they're coming from!!
However, the last thing most of us would want is to be dependent on the State. That's my opinion anyway, so I will keep working 🙃
No @rtenews, this is not a "protestor", this is a violent thug taking part in the destruction of a city.
Thousands of Irish men and women took to the streets earlier this year to protest, it was peaceful, in fact, it made Dublin, especially O'Connell Street more peaceful than it generally is.
Conflating what Irish people have done in recent years in various protests - all peaceful - and what this guy is doing is disingenuous at best.

Detective Garda Colm Horkan was killed on duty in Castlerea in June 2020.
Ten months before that, a Garda whistleblower raised concerns about the holsters gardaí were being issued with.
Colm's family only learned of this from a newspaper in 2023. Since then they have written to Ministers, to the Garda Commissioner and to the Taoiseach's office.
They say nobody from the State came near them. All they ever wanted was for someone to say sorry.
That is not too much to ask. Colm gave his life serving this country. His family deserve honesty, an apology and real answers.
I have written to the Oireachtas Justice Committee asking that Minister Helen McEntee be invited in to account for how this was handled while she was Minister for Justice. A change of job does not end accountability.
My thoughts are with Dermot, Deirdre, Padraig, their father Marty and the whole Horkan family.
