George Floyd was murdered one year ago today. Since then, hundreds more Americans have died in encounters with police—parents, sons, daughters, friends taken from us far too soon. But the last year has also given us reasons to hope.

Today I signed HB 1016, which establishes Juneteenth as a state holiday.
We cannot end systemic racism without addressing the role it has played in our nation’s history. Juneteenth is a day of hope, and a reminder of our constant struggle towards equity and justice.
Thank you to all the mothers, step-mothers, grandmothers, animal-mothers, and plant-mothers out there! We would not be the people we are without your strength, wisdom, and guidance through our brightest and darkest times. Be safe, happy, and healthy! #mothersday
I miss you, Mom.
3 yrs ago today my mom passed away. She was a teacher by trade and also a teacher for our whole family. In her name I thank all the teachers in our community. Thank you for your support, leadership, and empathy. We appreciate you!

It is a beautiful day to ride your bike in Olympia AND it is National Bike to School Day!
School may look different this year but students are back to in-person classes.
Drivers- keep an extra eye out for students riding to school today and please slow down in school zones!

It’s official: Today marks 100 days since President Biden took office. Here’s a look at his historic accomplishments over the last three months:
I’m proud to be a part of the Thurston Climate Mitigation Plan. We’re working to reduce greenhouse gases and improve our quality of life. On #EarthDay2021 and everyday we need to reduce the human impact on our Earth before we reach a point that can not be reversed. #ClimateAction
It’s a beautiful weekend! I’m so glad spring is here in full force. Get outside and enjoy the weather #olympia! #capital #tivolifountain #spring #sunshine
