It’s half term, but Chloe & Angel still found time for a “quick” litter pick this morning. One full bag later!
And Chloe, we’ve got a little surprise for you next week… watch this space! #YoungPeopleMakingADifference #Sandwell

Huge shout-out to Steve and the young people at Wodensborough Amateur #Boxing Club, who spent part of their half term litter picking around their club! Young people giving back and making a difference. Now that’s something to celebrate! #Wednesbury #sport #youth #sandwell

Paula’s still sniffling & snotting her way around Sandwell, armed with her trusty trolley… although I reckon it’s more of a basket! Today’s haul? Snazzy glasses, a tin of something , the kitchen sink she reported fly-tipped WEEKS ago, and something we absolutely won’t mention.

Yesterday, Julia tackled the soggy, mushy rubbish behind the baths, along Upper Church Lane and Powis Avenue.
She found a dustpan and brush, a green bin full of horrible rubbish dumped in the middle of nowhere, AND a new cat supervisor!

#FlyTip on 14th June 2026 at Bellswood Lane, Iver. Offender dumped waste from their home address in Slough. Had seen waste in the lay-by previously so thought it was 'okay'. Caught by @BucksCouncil surveillance. £1000 FPN paid

Halloween horrors at Thimble Mill Brook, #Smethwick ! Those rolled-up black items? Dumped air filters! Andy W was back cleaning up this beautiful spot. We’ll be working with Andy and hopefully Sandwell Council to explore ways to protect the brook. Oh, and we need a bigger van!

A morning of two halves for Andy S! First, litter and bits of fly-tipping at Harry Mitchell Park, then off to Victoria Park, Smethwick, for round two. Thanks, Andy, for keeping our green spaces cleaner!

Rowley’s looking a lot brighter today thanks to Deborah!
She spent yesterday tackling her adopted street and clearing off another massive batch of litter. Pure local pride in action.
Huge thanks, Deborah!

Shoutout to Timothy, who spent 3.5 hours litter picking his adopted streets in #Tipton yesterday!
In true modest fashion, he casually mentioned he "only" got 6 full bags.
Huge thanks for keeping our community clean—what a fantastic effort! #Community #LitterPicking #sandwell

Finding random things out litterpicking is normal for volunteers but this still made me laugh. Opened the other end its in an area used for fishing they use it for bait.

Mystery solved! It was Leo and his Mom! 👀 They’ve been busy litter picking Shelton Close, Pemberton Crescent, Coronation Road, Park Hill and both sides of Woden Road East. School holidays? No stopping these two! Thanks for caring for your community. #Wednesbury #sandwell

The real horror of Halloween.
Artificial cobweb: a bit of fake fun for you, but a very real and terrifying death for them.
If you see your neighbours using it, it's possible they don't know the danger so please print out this simple leaflet and pop it through their door:
tinyurl.com/HalloweenHedgeho…
The fine, strong synthetic fibres of this lethal 'web' are difficult for animals to see at dusk and can quickly wrap around their legs, wings, and neck, trapping and killing birds, insects and mammals.
When Eden the hedgehog struggled to free herself the web tightened, cutting off circulation and causing deep wounds.
Can you imagine the pain and sheer terror?
And then seeing dawn approach, while hanging there, tightly bound and helpless, only an inch above the ground but suffering slow strangulation.
Aside from being stressed, dehydrated, starving and exhausted, she also had horrific bite/peck wounds to her face, where she had been held there, helpless, unable to curl and defend herself, while a predator tried to eat her alive.
Tragically her constriction injuries were too severe to survive, and poor Eden had to be put to sleep.
If you have used this deadly cruel trap to 'decorate' your garden, I beg you - take it down now.
Please spread this vital information, and help save lives.
