Une erreur regrettable mais qui va inévitablement se répéter. Les excuses de Radio-Canada sont aussi les miennes.

What Carney is doing with Cohere may go down as one of the most outrageous examples of political cronyism Canada has ever seen.

🇨🇦 CANADA’S NEXT RETIREMENT CRISIS MAY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE STOCK MARKET. It could be the mortgage. For generations, Canadians entered retirement with one enormous financial advantage: A paid-off home. That equation is changing. 🏠 Larger mortgages. 💳 Longer amortization periods. 🚨 Higher carrying costs. 📉 Less disposable income available for retirement savings. Consider a Canadian retiring with a $400,000 mortgage at 5% interest. That’s approximately $20,000 a year in interest alone at the outset, before a dollar of principal repayment, property taxes, insurance or maintenance. Now imagine funding that obligation through CPP, OAS and personal savings. The retirement planning assumption that your biggest expense disappears at 65 is becoming increasingly fragile. Canada talks endlessly about whether people are saving enough for retirement. Perhaps we should be asking a more uncomfortable question: What happens when an entire generation reaches retirement still owing the bank hundreds of thousands of dollars? 🇨🇦 #Canada #Retirement

How did the news that Prime Minister Mark Carney was giving his wife $1.2 Billion dollars to be Canada's "Ocean Envoy" go with such little media coverage, let alone media scrutiny. Dude gave his wife a $1.2 BILLION budget to pretend to be Aquaman or whatever an "Ocean Envoy" is supposed to do and most people just let that news slip past unnoticed. Is she gong to talk to narwals about climate change? Somehow Canada survived without an "Ocean Envoy" up to this point but apparently now we need Diana Fox Carney to don the Aquaman suit and go fight suspicious barnacles or something. Goodness...

🚨HOLY CRAP!!! 🔥Polish MP Grzegorz Braun removed the EU flag in front of the government building AND SET IT ON FIRE 🇪🇺🔥 He claimed that Poland would not display the symbols of what he called a dark organization. "This is Poland, not Brussels". 👏👏👏🔥

Europe has developed a pretty interesting definition of “protecting democracy.” 🇷🇴 Romania annulled a presidential election after Călin Georgescu finished first, then barred him from the rerun. 🇭🇺 Hungary’s new government rewrote the constitution with retroactive limits that block Viktor Orbán from becoming PM again and later approved rules barring long-serving MPs from the next parliamentary election. 🇩🇪 Germany’s domestic intelligence service classified the AfD as extremist, opening the door to much heavier surveillance of the country’s biggest opposition party. 🇫🇷 France upheld Marine Le Pen’s conviction, kept restrictions on her political future and ordered her to wear an electronic ankle tag. 🇪🇸 In Spain, more than a dozen people tied to Pedro Sánchez’s political and personal circle have been investigated or prosecuted in separate corruption cases, while Sánchez himself has not been charged. 🇬🇧 Britain postponed local elections during a sweeping reorganization of local government, triggering a petition accusing the government of voter suppression. 🇵🇱 And now Poland has police surrounding its Constitutional Tribunal while the government and opposition accuse each other of trying to seize control of the court. The real red line in Europe may not be democracy... It may be leaving the club. Writer: Sol

Apparently, Canadian sovereignty is SACRED when America is involved… But when Europe starts talking about aligning our courts, policies and governance, suddenly it’s something worth applauding? Funny how that works. At what point does cooperation become surrendering control? Asking for over 40 million Canadians

Carney finiances this behavior with Canadian taxpayer dollars. Five Ukrainian military recruitment officials detained over alleged torture and abductions Carney needs to face justice just like the Norwegian people held their PM Quisling accountable for his collaboration with a Fascist Regime in Germany. hromadske.ua/en/kryminal/273…

Awesome. Let’s have a referendum on it. The Liberal’s latest arrogant fascist asshat can’t even be bothered taking it to the House so we can see for ourselves who the traitors are that want to sell the rest of us out to the worlds largest autocracy. Walk the talk.
Nearly three-quarters of Canadians support PM in seeking closer ties with Europe calgaryherald.com/news/canad…

Great to attend the celebration of Below on Netflix in Ottawa last week. A great Canadian show, made by Canadian talent. It has reached number 1 in 82 countries, with just over 38 million total views. Congratulations to the cast, the crew, and everyone who brought it to the screen. Stories like this put our creative workers front and center. I also had the chance to catch up with Newfoundland’s own Mary Walsh, a Canadian legend. 📸 credit: @LeftHandStu

Who can make this make sense? Carney: Trump putting tariffs on Canadian industries like steel and aluminum is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Also Carney: I welcome EU’s carbon tax on our steel, aluminum and iron industries. Canadians, can you see it now? Carney didn’t become PM to get a deal with Trump, make Canada an energy superpower or even build affordable homes. Carney became PM to further his net zero/green energy agenda (and grow his personal net worth via Brookfield’s extensive stake in green energy).
“The future of trade does take carbon into account, Carbon is trade” Carney and Ursula over the next several days will introduce their plan to soak businesses, industries and their citizens out of even more money & it will all be under the guise of “fighting the climate” CBAM will make life less affordable, but Carney will claim it’s making businesses “more competitive” These are not good people.

Every day Russian strikes hit our energy infrastructure, causing extensive damage. Russia’s operation against our power generation, energy grids and interconnectors continues. It launched 17 ballistic missiles last night, some of which struck our oil refining infrastructure in Kremenchuk. The Russians have not taken a single step toward energy de-escalation. We will act accordingly and justly.

Carney’s massive debt, broken promises & EU distraction in the 5th week of October. 1⃣ Carney will add $733 billion in debt over the next 5 years & is moving $400 billion of it away from parliamentary oversight according to PBO Annette Ryan. 2⃣ Carney drops the promise to build 500,000 homes annually while paying Build Canada Homes executives bonuses averaging $20,000. Yet he claims to be improving affordability in a tough housing market. 3⃣ After calling a snap election in order to “fight Trump,” David Eby & the B.C. NDP are crushed by the Conservatives who win a super majority. 4⃣ Under growing inflationary pressures, the Bank of Canada raises the interest rate to 2.5%, the first hike in 3 years. Banks immediately raise rates. 5⃣ Melanie Joly threatens legal action against the owner of Stelco & insults him saying “serious people follow the law.” 6⃣ 🇨🇦 aircraft maker Bombardier will invest $270M in its 🇺🇸 operations & create 800 jobs. 7⃣ MP Dan Mazier reveals that rejected asylum seekers who are wanted for removal & evading authorities still get free premium health coverage. 8⃣ In the wake of new 50% tariff on trash, Doug Ford admits that most of Ontario’s garbage goes to the 🇺🇸. 9⃣ “Associate membership” for 🇨🇦 in the EU is walked back and replaced with “ever closer association short of full membership itself.” 🔟 EU delegate Christine Anderson warns that adopting EU policies will make 🇨🇦 a living hell & Carney would be stupid to do so. 1⃣1⃣ For the second straight month, there was ZERO growth in 🇨🇦’s GDP. Growth over the past year has been a paltry 1%. Thx @cbcwatcher
