Local 3005 is remembering Charter Member Walter “Wally” Horak who passed away yesterday. Wally served as Firefighter for the Village from December 1975 to April 1995. Rest easy Wally.

At the annual AFFI Muscular Dystrophy Association Boot Camp, Local 3005 members pledged to help the Associated Firefighters of Illinois try and raise $1,000,000 dollars this year for MDA!

Lastly, please don’t use your oven to heat your house, it can lead to CO poisoning. While we’re talking about CO poisoning, make sure you have a CO detector and it’s working properly!
Second, never ever plug a space heater into an extension cord or power strip. The extension cord or power strip can overheat and cause a fire.
So, they tell us it might get a little chilly the next couple days, so let’s review some quick home safety.
First off, if you are using a space heater to heat your home, please keep it at least 3 feet away from drapes, clothes, furniture, children, etc.
