Writing my "sermon" for Harvard's 60th reunion memorial service, this week. From astride a golden eagle's breast, I'll talk to octogenarians about religious life for today's students, in a technological world. They expect to hear about divisions and divisiveness. But my message:
Did you grow up just mostly feeling happy or sad? Did you have a language for all of the other emotions? Being human means you come into contact with a range of situations that evoke a richness of emotions.

1/4 As a GP, the temptation is to add more appointments to your day BUT there are only so many patients one can safely see.
No one will thank you for making a mistake when pushed beyond capacity, quite the opposite in fact.
We probably have enough GPs for half the population.

Easy to resolve....
1. Work to contract.
2. Close & cross cover emergencies for annual / sick / study leave ( 9 weeks a year).
3. End OOH.

My top 3 science supported health practices.
1) Morning sunlight viewing. To set circadian rhythm, focus, mood etc.
2) 180-200min of Zone 2 (moderate) cardio per week. Cardiovascular health.
3) NSDR (Non-Sleep-Deep Rest; 10-30min, 3-7X per week). Stress mitigation, cognition.

Here's a video to give you hope & make you smile: our warrior princess Nusayba gave her liver donor @ShawnZed a hug today after ringing the bell. After 9 months of enduring stage 4 liver cancer, she is officially cancer free. I'm so proud of her. She is the bravest person I know.
