Obviously bad-faith post, but the difference in design intent and philosophy is actually very interesting and neither are inherently wrong or right. The Japanese side is more clustered, frilly design and more same-facey, while hades/vania is a bit more streamlined and stylized

If anything the fact that Hades is constantly used in these comparisons because even the people who prefer stereotypical anime designs can pick out the hades artstyle a mile a way speaks volume to the success of those designs in their recognizability

And honestly I’m a bit biased, I love anime/animation where things aren’t designed with the upmost beauty in mind but instead focus on personality and storytelling via design. Mob Psycho, Common Side Effects, some JJK episodes, give me a bit of weirdness and bold choices

I’d like to point out these kinds of posts rarely actually say why one side is objectively better. It’s vague on purpose and mainly cause the primary argument is just “I think the other design is prettier” and thats fine subjectively, but presenting it as objective truth is dumb
