I'll be posting some updates for Paleophage soon. But since it's Halloweek I also wanted to post about my favorite horror games from this year. While not explicitly a horror game, I think Endacopia has had the most effective scares, followed by the Remnants of a Scare demo.
House 2 was one of my favorite horror experiences. Even if I don't think it was necessarily scary, the puzzle it presents was really gripping and the level of violence in this art style was shocking at times. I didn't play the first one so had no clue what it was about going in.
BTW, Remnants of a Scare is insane and you should play the demo. I haven't been so overcome with dread while playing a videogame in a while.
Sorry guys, it's been a minute, even after finishing my move getting settled has taken a bit.
Here's a preview of a chase sequence in Paleophage, and what happens if you're caught.
I have been without internet for a few days as I wrapped up my move.
I'm back at it today and will resume regular Paleophage updates soon!
A handful of screenshots from my upcoming dinosaur survival horror game, Paleophage, for #screenshotsaturday!
For #screenshotsaturday, I have a lil thing I did right before packing up for the move. Just looking for more opportunities to add small interactions - in this case breakable pottery. I'm going to randomize the sfx and pitch so it's not the same sound every time.
I'll be moving over the next week or so and I have to pack up my PC's, which means fresh posts will go on hiatus until I'm in the new place. Expect less posting or reposts in the meantime. Here's a few wet Ceratosaurus pics for now. π¦π
Some locations in Paleophage and the real-world places that inspired them. Most materials in the game were created with photography I took on-site at various places around Milwaukee.
I didn't really want to weigh in too much on the whole Mixtape thing but I see a lot of people conspiratorially attributing it to Morgan Ellison as if it were some kind of "nepo baby vanity project" from Annapurna's owner.
I think there's lots of legit reasons to be unhappy with the game, but there's a lot of people seemingly just making things up to be mad about, which doesn't help anyone.
