The first mistake you made was believing a dispatcher. Sorry but they’re about the most unreliable source of information in the industry. I know, I used to be one.....
I don’t know. There’s a lot of truckers who are true owner operators, finding their own loads, and my understanding is that rates have been crap lately. I don’t think the pay is the issue.

I’ve given some Lyft and Uber reviews for these some kids they have that cut in front of trucks.... They used to ask if a person got their license from a Cracker Jack box. Now I think it’s like those participation awards. You showed up? You have insurance? Here ya go!

I do not agree with this. Shippers & receivers don’t usually give appointments at night. Ports usually don’t release containers at that time either. Unless the entire industry is going to shift operations to nights, that’s not a feasible options.
