On today’s episode of doing the kind of work I wanna get hired for:
I explored how @trylimitless could bring trade discussions closer to the markets they’re about. The concept brings together existing social features and gives traders a place to share a position, compare perspectives, compete and discover markets together.
I also reworked the football match view to make key events, especially goals and scorers, easier to scan.
The question I’d love to explore next: can in-app discussions lead to more meaningful market discovery and participation either casually or for competition?

A badge in 2 states
The colorful variant is the default and it’s used when the user is active
The greyed out variant is the frozen state and it’s used when the user is inactive. This frozen states serves as a silent nudge to get users active once again

Track your basketball sessions on Surge
Good morning, lets get it this week

These are group chats on Surge
Surge has several communities and each community has their own identity. You can see the identities of each community in their chat bubbles and inline event banners across several states.
More on the event banner; If a user decides not to take part in an event, the banner loses its color and becomes neutral to signify to the user not just in words but with color.
No decision is permanent either, the user can change their mind and still return to the the default state of the banner by interacting with the button

This tweet got a lot of attention so to everyone new here, I want to introduce myself
I am Oluwatobi and i am a product designer and I build my designs with AI.
The screens from the quoted tweet below are from from a project called Surge: An activity tracking and wellness product that introduces community to help keep users going when their motivation starts fading. This happens a lot when the user is putting in effort but they have no result to show for it
I will be posting more screens from the project below.
Frame 1: Swimming club community group chat. We also have the inline event banner showing through multiple states
Frame 2: Matching users to activity centers
Frame 3: Iteration history of the "Ready to start" state of session tracking for the tennis activity
This is why I design on @figma
You can see in real time how the idea for a single experience went through multiple stages of iteration with each iteration serving as the foundation for the next
Every time i iterated, i saw the progress but at the same time, something felt missing so i kept working
Have i made progress with this experience from the first draft? Yes
Am i satisfied with where it is right now? Yes
Am i done tinkering with ways to improve it? NO
And that's why Figma is so important. It sets your imagination on fire, let's you tinker, let's you do your best work
Figma lets you think of reasons why Iteration A will work and why it will not work so it's time for Iteration B

Hello Eddie, I get your point
I have worked with agents too, I have multiple workflows designed around them.
I connect agents to Figma MCP and tell them to build what I have designed
I also connect them to Mobbin MCP to audit what I have designed against shipped products in the industry. Once I have a report, I tell the agents to make iterations so I can see a side by side in the flow before I decide on the next step. This helps me prepare for stakeholder meetings
I also use them for research
My creation and ideation process however makes me want granular control of every element e.g 1px vs 0.5px weight for a divider. You may think it tedious and in today’s age too slow. I disagree
The hours I spend on Figma moving those rectangles help me immerse myself in the problem I am solving. Countless times I’ve made mistakes while designing only to like that mistake better than what I was actually trying to do
Or that mistake leading to a much better direction. The joy and satisfaction I get from that alone is immeasurable
In these samples i am posting, each state of the session tracking went through multiple design decisions that most of you will see immediately but many more will go unnoticed and i couldnt have come up with it if i didn't have granular control
This is a perfect example of what I mean.
I totally respect the craft and the thinking behind doing this by hand in Figma. But while you're moving around rectangles for hours and iterating screens, I just sent one voice message to my bot and about 15 minutes later I got back a fully interactive prototype designed from scratch.
That doesn’t mean design thinking is dead. It means the workflow is changing insanely fast.
You can still use Figma. Just don’t get too emotionally attached to moving rectangles around because the world isn’t waiting for us to catch up.

I will be posting more about Avid in the coming weeks. Its a Fintech product imagined for users who do not have a built up mental model of how to navigate digital products
You see ~90% of designs/products we consider intuitive are simply building on previous exposure to digital products and the internet at large. Give that "Intuitive" product to an individual who does not have this previous exposure and watch it all break apart.
You will find yourself explaining EVERY. SINGLE. THING
When designing AVID, this was the problem I sought to solve not just to cater to these users but to provide support for every user during their low confidence moments where they need to be super careful, where their errors are costly
But for now, here is a motion teaser. Designed in Figma Motion by yours truly, Oluwatobi Adetunji, a product designer for Sports, Fintech, Crypto, Web3 and AI systems
