Some people are saying Marvel "dragged" Sir Patrick Stewart out of his home, while others are calling Avengers: Doomsday a "devastating end" to his career.
Please, let's be serious for a moment.
He filmed the movie in 2025, and in his final interview, he said he couldn't imagine ever officially retiring from acting. He wanted to keep working.
Using his death to attack a Marvel movie is not honoring his legacy. It's using his passing to fuel your hatred for a franchise...📺📺📺
Sir Patrick Stewart gave us decades of incredible performances, from Professor X to Jean-Luc Picard.
And that is how we should remember him, not reduce his final role to another excuse for a fan war.
Rest in peace, Sir Patrick Stewart. Thank you for everything. ❤️

Patrick Stewart spent most of his life hating his father. At 72 he read a medical note from 1940 and had to start the man over from the beginning.
He grew up in a two-up two-down in Mirfield, Yorkshire. His father was a regimental sergeant major. The violence at home was aimed at his mother, and police came to the house more than once. Stewart was a boy and could do nothing.
He has been a patron of Refuge, the domestic violence charity, for years. "I do what I do in my mother's name, because I couldn't help her then," he says.
Then he went looking for his father's war record.
At the Imperial War Museum he read the notes. In 1940, after France with the British Expeditionary Force, his father was diagnosed with what was then called severe shell shock. Today it is called PTSD. He was never treated for it. It never left him.
A doctor told Stewart that every condition of his childhood he had just described was a textbook symptom of an untreated veteran.
In the video below, a woman at a convention asks him what he is most proud of outside acting. He answers with this.
He now works for Refuge in his mother's name and for Combat Stress in his father's, and says he does both in equal measure.
For 70 years his father was the man who did it. He is now also a man it was done to.
Is that an explanation, or an excuse that arrived 70 years too late?

Thanks for all the love and support these past 4 years! I know I've slowed down lately, but I will keep doing my best for you all and am doing my best to find my footing again! Much love, wolfpups!

“Being left-wing can create a little problems sometimes in the United States, but I would have fun with it! There’s nothing like being at a dinner party in Beverly Hills with fancy guests and telling them you’re a socialist.”
Rest in Peace, Patrick Stewart ✊

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026)
Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love.
We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway.
America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire.
His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen.

I was in a patient's room and this young teenage girl looked at me and said my hair reminded her of @ironmouse. Before I could say thanks or anything the girl then immediately went, "oh I'm sorry you're probably too old to know who that is...she's a fortnite character"
Y'ALL!!!
