In 2005, a nursing home in the US got a six-month-old kitten named Oscar as a therapy cat. The staff soon noticed something unusual about him. Oscar often liked to be by himself, but sometimes he would go and lie next to one of the residents. Strangely, the resident he chose would often pass away within a few hours. At first, the workers didn't think it was important, but after it happened 20 times, they started to think Oscar knew when someone was going to die. So, they began to call the resident's family if they saw Oscar with them. Some people think Oscar could sense certain smells from dying cells, and that's why he went to comfort residents who were alone. There was even a time when the staff thought one resident was going to die, but Oscar stayed with a different, healthier-looking person, who then died first. Oscar lived until 2022 and was right about more than 100 deaths during his life.

imagine just clocking in at a polling station, putting in a thankless shift for democracy, and it turns out you get to tell Boris Johnson to fuck off
Sensational line from Sky News on Boris Johnson being turned away today for not bringing acceptable photo ID: “Polling station staff were forced to turn the former prime minister after he initially failed to comply with legislation he introduced while he was in Downing Street.”

we’ve packed up over 2000 orders placed on Monday. thanks for your patience while we get through them. we’re going as fast as we can but won’t cut corners on getting out these precious limited releases getting the goods out AND feeding our fat faces
on Monday night we, like many more RSD participating stores, had our busiest night of online sales for the year. Banquet received about three weeks worth of vinyl sales in a night. thanks for your patience while we get through the orders. mails like this two days later don’t speed up your order, but quite plausibly get your order cancelled. there’s real people in this real record shop.

getting overstimulated in public sucks because people be thinking you have an attitude when really you just need 10 minutes of pure silence.

Take me back 😭
might take us all selling all our stuff but we’re gonna get ourselves to that little milton keynes gig, because the @deafhavana downpour at @2000trees was too much of a core memory to not see them again immediately

All my life I've been stalking a consultant ophthalmologist. I'm always trying to get him in my sights from the roof opposite the hospital, but his movements are too irregular. It's like he knows I'm there. The others in the snipers' guild bully me incessantly.

I live my life like I'm being stalked by a sniper. I always stand just to the side of windows and doors in case anyone is lining up the kill shot and often zig-zag a little when walking along the road. I'm a 54 year old Consultant Ophthalmologist.

I absolutely fucking hate this country and what it’s done to my mental health man. I used to look forward to things, I had realistic goals and aspirations. Now, everything seems so far out of fucking reach that I just don’t see the point in anything anymore

By the time you’re in your late 20’s you should have: 1. An air fryer 2. A Caffeine dependency 3. An SSRI 4. Reverted back to everything you loved aged 13-17 as a coping mechanism
