Excited to work with Payward to forge a path for onchain derivatives built on Hyperliquid's infrastructure. Kraken is one of the most trusted and respected exchanges in crypto. They are also true believers in the technology and crypto ethos. We're honored that they are building on Hyperliquid to bring the next evolution of perpetual markets to the United States.
Payward, the parent company of Kraken, announced its intention to be the first CFTC-regulated deployer on HIP-3* markets. Payward will use Hyperliquid as the infrastructure layer to deploy perpetual futures markets for US clients. Subject to regulatory approval, Bitnomial, Payward’s CFTC-regulated DCM and DCO, would act as the HIP-3* deployer: creating, owning, and administering the markets and clearing and settling the contracts. If approved, NinjaTrader Clearing, Payward’s CFTC-registered FCM, would carry client accounts.
HIP-3 will support optional deployer configuration for permissioned markets in a future network upgrade. This set of additional deployer functionality is collectively called HIP-3*. At its core, HIP-3* activation involves an onchain allowlist managed by the deployer or its sub-deployers. The functionality is strictly additive to HIP-3; its use is optional and up to the deployer. Existing markets remain unchanged. The initial release is available on testnet, where specifications are preliminary and subject to change based on feedback.
Hyperliquid is a neutral infrastructure layer with the goal of supporting large parts of the financial system. HIP-3* gives deployers additional functionality to operate deployments consistent with the requirements applicable to them. As with HIP-3, HIP-3* deployers are independent operators who use Hyperliquid as the onchain infrastructure layer for their own markets, while retaining control and responsibility over their deployment.

For over a year I've been explaining @HyperliquidX to anyone who will listen. It mostly has been a monologue from me. We decided we needed to turn it into a presentation.
All comments are welcomed. Tell us what you like, what you don't like, and what you hate. Like everything in HL, this should be a community effort.

Jeff Yan @chameleon_jeff used Odd Lots to pitch @HyperliquidX to regulators and TradFi as financial infrastructure, not a crypto exchange.
It was his first big mainstream interview. The core idea running through it: the protocol stays neutral, and deployers are where control and oversight sit.
→ Positioning: He calls Hyperliquid a protocol, not an exchange, with the long-term aim to “house all of finance.” Markets on it are “deployed,” not “issued.” He said even 90% of finance would be a huge win, and that they’re a long way from it.
→ Regulation: He agreed that regulators could oversee deployers rather than the protocol, the way TCP/IP itself isn’t regulated. His strongest pitch was that solvency can be checked onchain by anyone at any time, instead of through audits on request. He was firm that US users on VPNs are breaking the terms of service.
→ Incumbents: He doesn’t see banks as “legacy.” In his view they keep their customers and brands and plug into better rails, the way companies moved onto AWS. Banks becoming deployers is, in his words, important but not remarkable.
→ HIP-3:
• A deployer stakes 500K $HYPE and wins a slot in a Dutch auction held every 31 hours.
• Each auction restarts at twice the last clearing price, and the 31-hour cycle means the start time rotates through every hour of the day.
• The protocol makes no judgment on whether a market makes sense. It only limits each oracle update to a 1% move.
→ Oracles: Perp volume far above the underlying is fine as long as traders step in when prices drift from real value. Weekend pricing for markets like WTI is the deployer’s problem.
In August, President Trump said the CFTC was working on bringing a crypto platform called Hyperliquid into the United States "in a fully compliant and legal fashion.” What exactly is Hyperliquid?
CEO and Co-founder Jeff Yan joins @TheStalwart and @tracyalloway on the Odd Lots podcast to explain how the platform works and how he plans to bring the entire financial industry onto Hyperliquid. Listen at bit.ly/3PsKJKY or watch at Bloomberg.com/video.

$GME has now closed green for 7 consecutive weeks
I feel like it's time for another $HYPE ATH. Hyperliquid
I would choose this in any scenario over any future Tesla. They constantly promise new models yet fail to deliver on every single commitment.

Thank you to @TheStalwart and @tracyalloway for having me on! Appreciate the research that went into the thoughtful questions and discussion.
We derived some interesting results live about how mechanisms such as HIP-3* ought to work. This wasn't scripted and reflects close listening and quick learning by the hosts. I was impressed and enjoyed the conversation.
NEW ODD LOTS:
It’s the podcast debut for Jeff Yan
@tracyalloway and I have an ultra-rare interview with the CEO and co-founder of Hyperliquid Labs about his plan to house the world’s entire financial system

Was the Coinbase USDC Yield reserve deal good for Hyperliquid?
Well it brought in $25M since activated 50 Days ago.
Would it still have been nice to see @nativemarkets win and USDH supply going to Billions? Yes.
But with the USDC deal Hyperliquid achieved getting back 90% of the yield which was kind of the point of the stablecoin wars in the first place.
Hyperliquid is the only chain that gets that kind of deal btw.
Yes Circle does pay distribution fees to partners but not 90% of what they make.

THIS URGENTLY BREAKING NEWS BEFORE THEIR BUSIEST QUARTER OF THE YEAR EVEN BEGINS AND MORE MAKES THIS A STRONG BUY RATING FROM US!
