day 116 of building candle, the duolingo for relationships we gained another 21,000 users in the last 3 days from our recent video here’s exactly what we did: 1. start with the actual problem you have to understand what your users actually feel, even the small annoyances that come from the bigger issue. that’s generally what makes something “relatable.” so the first 5 seconds, I just said something casual like: “facetiming and texting just wasn’t cutting it anymore for us” added a text overlay as i said it, for people watching without sound. 2. film it like you’re sending a message to a friend no professional equipment, no lighting, no mic, just literally use your front camera + natural light also don’t overthink it 3. walk through 2 core features, the first feature needs to be your “aha” moment feature while i talked, a raw screen recording played over me showing the first feature in action. then i cut back to my face, explained point 2 and let that screen recording play too. 4. end on a soft cta remember to end casual, say something like: “it’s called Candle on the app store. it’s helped us ... maybe it helps you too. would love any feedback.” you don’t necessarily need to go mega viral, you need conversion, this video had a ~9% view to install conversion rate. lmk if you guys have any qs download the beta below and try it out with a friend or partner! as always, would love any feedback 👇
