Why the fuck are we still taking the knee?
Do we seriously think a racist is watching football thinking, “Fuck me, racism is wrong after all”?
If you’re racist in 2026, a footballer kneeling isn’t changing your mind.
Pointless virtue-signalling shite.
#PremierLeague #TakingTheKnee.
🚨 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: FIVE Premier League players REFUSED to take the knee during this weekend's anti-racism campaign!
• Marc Guéhi (Manchester City)
• Issa Diop (Ipswich Town)
• Ainsley Maitland-Niles (Everton)
• Rayan (Bournemouth)
• Tyler Adams (Bournemouth)
The reasons behind the players' decisions remain UNKNOWN, but concerns are growing that taking the knee has LOST its impact.
Fulham 1-0 Hull City | Match Report
Another train down to London… again! We really need to get rid of a few of these London teams from the Premier League! 🙄
Fulham is a strange away day in some respects. Just a very different crowd to what we’re used to. A gentle, almost tourist feel about the place. More prawn sandwich brigade than your typical football crowd.
The starting XI raised more questions than answers, and unfortunately the performance did little to answer them.
Credit to Sergej, he’s got far more right than wrong since arriving, but I really struggled with the selection today. I can only assume we’re still carrying fitness issues in certain areas, because otherwise I can’t understand Crooks starting in central midfield or Cuffy being selected at left back. Both strange decisions for me.
Credit to Fulham, they needed a big performance given their start to the season and the pressure potentially building on their manager. They didn’t exactly set the world alight, but they were tidy in possession, made very few mistakes and rarely looked troubled. At times it genuinely felt like they had an extra man on the pitch.
City, on the other hand, looked panicked whenever we had the ball. Short of options, rushed in possession and unable to string together any meaningful spell of pressure.
Every time we looked like getting a foothold in the game, we’d either surrender possession through an unforced error or concede a completely unnecessary free kick. It was incredibly frustrating to watch.
The away support was in good voice throughout, but the players gave us very little to get behind.
I can’t help thinking we’re becoming victims of our own early success with the five at the back.
It’s brought us some fantastic results, and Sergej deserves enormous credit for that, but how long can we continue allowing teams to outnumber us in central midfield?
Week after week we’re seeing three against our two, and when we don’t have someone capable of getting hold of the ball, slowing things down and dictating possession, we end up chasing shadows.
I’m hoping Morita can be that player. Someone who can put his foot on the ball, pick a pass and give us some control in the middle of the park. We’re crying out for somebody to pull the strings rather than constantly playing under pressure.
The only real positive is that, despite being poor pretty much all over the pitch, we somehow came away with just a 1-0 defeat.
I think Tzolakis should do better with the goal, but equally, without him we could easily have been looking at two or three.
A disappointing afternoon, and probably one of the most frustrating performances we’ve seen this season. Not simply because we lost, but because we never really looked capable of imposing ourselves on the game.
We’ve enjoyed some excellent results and performances so far, and one bad afternoon doesn’t undo that. But it does raise some genuine questions about our midfield balance and whether the current system is sustainable against sides that dominate the middle.
We need a big response next week. Not necessarily in terms of the result, but certainly in the performance.
You can accept getting beaten in this league. It’s much harder to accept never really giving yourselves a chance.

When they faced Hull City...
• Man Utd's starting XI cost £420m
• Coventry's starting XI cost £102m
• Aston Villa's starting XI cost £190m
• Chelsea's starting XI cost £450m
• Everton's starting XI cost £120m
Hull City's cost £59m & they've registered points against them all.
Hull City 2-2 Everton | Matchday Report
The forecast said 12 or 13 degrees at the MKM, so my lads weren’t too impressed when I told them to wrap up warm. Naturally, we spent the afternoon sat in sunshine that felt closer to 20!
As for the football, another Premier League point on the board for City.
I still think the starting eleven is being shaped by international duty and players not quite being match fit. There’s more to come from this squad and I doubt we’ve seen Sergej’s strongest side yet.
Crooks is one worth mentioning. He’s been unbelievable for this club, but I thought he was miles off it at Newcastle and again today. When everyone’s fit, I struggle to see him starting. That said, he could be invaluable coming on as an extra midfield body to close games out.
And let’s give Crooks and Coyle their due. They’re available, they play through knocks and they give everything. Being available is part of being reliable.
City were solid in the first half. Everton had one ruled out for offside. From my seat it looked like a foul on the keeper, although watching it back that might have been soft. Then again, judging by some of the fouls Everton got, perhaps not!
At half time I wondered if Sergej would change things, especially with Crooks on a yellow. Gelhardt had shown some nice touches, but Belloumi offers a different level of attacking threat.
No changes, though, and just after the break Sorba slipped Gelhardt through for a lovely finish. The ball seemed to take an age to cross the line! 1-0.
The lead didn’t last. Dewsbury-Hall arrived completely unmarked to head home. Giles was left with his head in his hands after losing his man. You can’t give players that much space at this level.
I thought City were finding a foothold again, only for Sorba to play a dangerous pass that was intercepted. It eventually fell to Barry, who finished superbly. Credit for the finish, but we’d gifted them the chance. A real hammer blow.
Everton then dropped surprisingly deep and invited us on. Sergej responded, switched to a back four and made changes that gave City fresh energy.
Stroud replaced Giles and looked hungry from the moment he came on. He got his reward with the assist for Belloumi, whose first touch was different class. He absolutely lashed it past Pickford. Could the keeper have done better? Maybe, but there was serious power behind it. 2-2!
I liked Sergej’s intent. He didn’t settle for the game drifting away, he changed it.
The referee, though… 15 fouls awarded to Everton against just four to City. I’m not saying they were all wrong, but some were incredibly soft. It felt like an Everton player only had to go down to get a whistle. Let the game flow! Those constant stoppages kill momentum.
On balance, a point apiece was fair. The frustration is that both goals conceded were avoidable, and Premier League teams punish those mistakes.
But City fought back, the changes worked and Belloumi showed his quality. We’re competing while still figuring out our best eleven, and there’s plenty more to come.
Another Premier League point on the board.
Onto Fulham. UTT! 🖤🧡
