Burnham demands answers. The arrogance of this incompetent Socialist idiot. The reason why they are going to the wall is thanks to you and your economically illiterate Labour Government. Its about time voters in Makerfield woke up that Burnham is an absolute dud. Never Labour.
NEW: Andy Burnham has demanded answers about the insolvency of Poundland, which has its largest distribution centre in his constituency of Makerfield. The PM tells @Telegraph: "If there was a potential owner to avoid this that hasn’t been accepted, then the Business Secretary and I want to know why that is the case. We stand ready to support the workforce however we can.” Burnham wants to know why Gordon Brothers, the chain's owner, rejected a solvent bid from Ireland’s Martin Property Group for the entire Poundland business earlier this week. Story here with @LukeVanceBarr: telegraph.co.uk/business/202…

Kemi Badenoch tore Labour to shreds today at the budget. A serious leader. “They love to dish it, but they can’t take it.” “Those on benefits are getting an increase, those going out to work are not. That is not fair…Labour are addicted to welfare”. We deserve better.

The comments made by Reform UK councillors are abhorrent. The narrative from Reform is less and less about low taxes, less regulation, smaller government etc and more and more about race and skin colour. There will be plenty of voters and people who defected to Reform who will see these comments and be disgusted. This is not what they were promised and it is not what they want. itv.com/news/2026-10-14/insi…

Fair point from Badenoch today: driving at 21mph in a 20mph speed zone can get you in trouble, yet shoplifting goes unpoliced.

Ironic that as PM Burnham raises the prospect of rejoining the EU, a sovereign debt crisis is brewing on the other side of the Channel. Oh, and Yields on UK 30-year bonds have just passed 6%.

The UK has gone mad. A pint is £6.50 A coffee is £4 Takeaway for one is £25 Petrol is £1.73 a litre. Diesel is £1.97 An hour with a driving instructor is £50 A short taxi is £20 A week’s shop for one is £80 A cheap hotel night is £110 Rent is £1,459 a month as national average. And this is my personal favourite. £172 a month for my two kids to get the bus to and from school just fifteen minutes away. Nothing fancy. Just the prices. You work. They take.
