Sometimes the hardest words to say are the most important.
While 74% feel comfortable discussing mental health, only 45% would talk about suicidal thoughts.
By having more open conversations, we give people the chance to express how they feel and get the support they need.

After a suicide attempt, Rebekah called us. A volunteer asking, "Are you feeling suicidal?" gave her space to say 'yes' and get the help she needed.

At @samaritans we would ask all parties to commit at the forthcoming General Election to support the Suicide Prevention Strategy by funding crisis helplines and local suicide prevention - there’s plenty work for all of us to do. #samaritans #mentalhealth
Too many families are being ripped apart by grief after losing a loved one to suicide.
My Labour government’s preventative reforms will drive down the rate of suicide and save families from anguish. independent.co.uk/news/uk/po…

Trans Day of Remembrance is a day to pay respects to trans people who’ve lost their lives to violence and suicide. Sadly, it can also increase hate aimed at trans people, particularly on social media.

Today the Government could have decided to save vital local suicide prevention funding, at just £1.40 per person it wasn’t too much to ask. But instead they’ve made the choice to sit back and watch as it comes to an end. This is unacceptable. 1/3
